Default The team so far...

Ok, I'm trying to get my head around who we've got now and where they'll play. Seems like we're a defender short, have one midfielder too many, and still don't have a striker. Here's my starting team:

Jaaskelainen
N'Gotty Laville Barness Charlton
Giannakopoulos Okocha Djorkaeff Nolan Gardner
Pedersen/New Striker

Which means I don't have room for Frandsen unless Gardner drops back.

Hmm..

Jussi

NGotty-Laville-(new defender)-Charlton

(new Defensive midfielder)

Giannakopoulos- Okocha- Djorkaeff-Gardner

(new striker)

So the way I see it we're 3 short. And I hope the new striker isn't Kevin friggin Davies. I'd also like to see a new left back come to the club as I think Charlie's best days are behind him.

I have faith in Sam and I think we'll see a surge in signings as the window comes to a close, I just hope we don't panic buy.

I hope the rumours linking us with Chicago Fire and Jamaica striker Damani Ralph aren't true, he's not the quality we're looking for and to be honest we should sign Zamora before him.

So no room for Frandsen _or_ Nolan? Last year your sig line was asking for Nolan to get an England call-up, now he's not even in your team? But you're right, there's not really a place for him in the current structure. No go for Frandsen as the D-mid? He'd probably make a decent captain from there. But I'm thinking the armband will probably go to Djorkaeff.

Where's the new striker? And by "new" I don't mean has-been, worn out, no good, dumped by former club, happen to have a couple of mates in the team, Turkish or Polish. Should have grabbed Alan Smith when he was going for nothing. Sam could have got back into kicking someone.

Neither Nolan or Frandsen are defensive midfielders, Frandsen especially is attack minded. Nolan's struggled with his weight and form, he wouldn't get into my first team at the moment but he's probably the next midfielder after it. MY vote would be Youri for captain.

Speaking of Youri there were newspaper reports that he's turned down lucrative offers to go and play in Qatar (I think) because he wants a contract extention and coaching role at Bolton. I say give it him!

Still no sign of the striker and it's worrying me. The fact about this team is that with a half decent striker we'll be in the top half of the table, without one we'll be fighting relegation. The board must be ready to spend some money! I'm also bothered that we're being linked with defender after defender but no strikers. We should have signed Jay Bothroyd from coventry at the end of last season while we had him on trial, he's just signed for Perugia in Italy and is scoring by the boat load.

Ok, what about something like this:

--------------------Jussi---------------------
--------N'Gotty Laville Charlton-------
------------------Campo--------------------
Stelios Okocha Djorkaeff Gardner
-------------Walters Davies--------------

Walters seems like he's been in good form doesn't he? Are you going to the match tonight or tomorrow?

Damn, of that team, only Laville, Charlton and Walters don't have international experience.

I went to the match and Walters is looking very good

My team

---------------jussi-------------------
Ngotty--Laville-----(new CB)--(New LB)
-------------Campo-------------------
Stelios---Djorkaeff-----Okocha----Gardner
------------(new striker)--------------

I'd view Nolan as interchangeable with Djorkaeff and Stelios. Barness or Charlton at LB are just not strong enough, we need someone else. If we sign Rene Bolf he'll fill the CB slot. As for the striker we still need someone, Pedersen and Davies are of a similar quality. It's no use swapping like for like.
