Default Gillespie signs for Leicester City

KEITH GILLESPIE became Leicester's fifth offseason signing today, coming to the Foxes on a free and signing a two-year deal.

I think he's got something to prove...

With Gillespie on the wing, I think the chances of MATT PIPER returning from Sunderland got slimmer.

Thumbs down Gillespie sucks

Should have got Piper. You're all going to go bald from pulling your hair out over his performances. He has some skill, but NO determination or consistency. He will put in 3 or 4 bad perforances for every good one, cost too much in wages and give the sour grapes treatment to Adams when his contract is not renewed.

Just now, he's had a good moan saying Souness is crap, there is bad team spirit at Blackburn, 10 or more players also hate Souness etc.

The Piper situation is complicated and became even more so when Leicester went up and Sunderland went down.

Sunderland bought Piper for #3 million but they apparently haven't paid much of the bill yet. For a while there was word that Sunderland, instead of just paying the rest of the bill, would just hand Piper back to Leicester to cover the difference.

Piper is from Leicester and his friends have said that he would love to come back to the Foxes.

However, there haven't been any new developments on this story since May.

As for Gillespie, he's definitely talented and Micky is a fan of his abilities. Micky just has to steer him on the right track. Perhaps Leicester's new player-payment plan, which involves much of a player's wages being paid based on appearances, will light a fire under Gillespie's ass.

It will for a while. Christ, we even sent him on loan to Wigan before we were promoted, and any improvement in his performances didn't last long. He will have the odd game where he is great, but most games he'll be too hesitant to take on a full back, and overhit his crosses, which is not good for a winger.
