Drew Careyt just spent the first 5+ minutes of his interview pimping soccer and MLS. One of the funny lines went something like: "You know how we've been told that the super bowl is a big event? Well, wev'e been lied to. . . during the WC there were three super bowls per day." He has trouble watching other sports (due to the interruption in play) after getting hooked on soccer, particularly the galaxy. Etc.
That's an amazing quote!!!! I'm gonna find the exact phrasing because it just became one of my new favorite soccer quotes.
Drew Carey is the new host of the Price is Rigth, he will have season tickets for the Galaxy every day.
So, what's the chance a Beckham jersey or a trip for two to see the Galaxy train in (enter exotic location here) is a prize?
what the hell happened to bob barker? did android b squared have a complete systems meltdown?? i hope not...man, drew carey on the price is right...not nearly old enough or gray enough to fit the bill... it would be cool if all of the games were soccer themed now, though
I give him a lot of credit for talking about soccer on Letterman and on Kimmel as he has done in the past but it's a little unsettling that the audience is not going along with him at all.
Poor audience members, they didn't know to what to do whenever Drew spouted off what is good about the game. And yeah, rep for the vid link.
Seems like an open minded guy who went to a game he wasn't familiar with and honestly tried to learn about it, did, and now loves it. How to replicate that experience. (Might be impossible, the "open minded" part can't be taught!) Come to think of it, this may be the true/root problem of ESPN and the other major media outlets featuring the turgid views of Jim Rome et al all the time. I think there are a lot of people who would love the sport if they gave it a shot. Not that I like that part of the game, but it was refreshing to hear him talk about how tough a game it can be--as I look down and my messed-up shins.
I think they were just listening to him talk (probably waiting for the punch line), I'd bet a few will tune in to a game sometime soon to check out why he's so into it.
Drew Carey + Price is Right money = Cleveland expansion Let the rumors fly! Off-topic, just read elmundo.es; headline called Vick "El asesino de perros"...
