Bramble tangled by Barcelona

Last Wednesday they were beaten 3-1 at Nottingham Forest; last night they shipped three goals to rather better opposition. But next Wednesday night, when they play a Champions League qualifier worth around £15m, Newcastle United cannot afford to be so generous...

A wake-up call? This was more like a smack upside the head!

Listening to the radio broadcast, my biggest concern right now is in the defense. Sounded like Barnard and Bramble were often scrambling back into position, and the phrase
"Dabizas was wrong-footed" was mentioned far too often.

The Toon certainly generated enough chances, if Bellamy were in there we'd have a different game. Hopefully Lua Lua gets his scoring confidence sooner rather than later, we really need to hit the ground running if we're to be a competitive side in Europe this year.

I just hope this means we are not seeing Dabizas return to his poor form of a couple of years.
