Pompey pretty much dominated things Saturday. I listened to the second half on Forest World and it sounded very lackluster.

I sure hope they can do a better job with Preston on Wednesday. They really need to attack quickly, score a goal and, for Pete's Sake, hold the lead.

On the last day of Match Talk on BBC Radio Nottingham I posed the question, "How well have Forest done if the scores hadn't changed after the 80th minute. Their crack staff went to work and said Forest would have finished 7th, just four points short of the playoffs. We just gave up too many equalizing or game-losing goals in those last ten minutes. Lets hope they learned from that.

was at the city ground on saturday to watch forest beat sheff. wednesday 4-0 was a great performance particulaly as s.wed were nowhere near as bad as the scoreline suggests forest keeper Ward was unbeatable and pressman did some great stops for wed.{he stood no chance with the goals} a quick mention for the large Wednesday support who cheered their team to the end and were a credit to their club,i do hope things get better for them {exept against forest,of course}. attendance:21,139.

US? Do you mean Nottingham Forest or one of the other dozen teams on your list of "support"?

I took my brother to that agme who is a forest supporter and I didn't think sheffield wedsenday were playin well at all. They lost every loose ball counddn't tackle. Had a few decent chances but i thought they were crap.

Forest have got to be considered one of the hotter sides in the First Division. Behind the Villa, they're my second favorite club and I was very impressed with the way they casually dispatched of Gillingham and Grimsby. Stoke next. Are these guys a realistic shot for promotion?

See my comment in another thread (more detailed) but the jist of it was that given the dross in the First Division this year, Forest are realistic outsiders at the very worse. They've made a reasonable start but the meat in the seasonal sandwich is always October, November, December, and January.

If, during the heavy-pitch months, they're able to continue as they've started (and, broadly, I think they will be) then they certainly have a shot at the playoffs.
