Caen
So, can anyone shed some light on them? Do they have any realistic chance of staying up? I see they havent done much in the transfer market and that is worrying me.

And the tunisian striker Jemaa from RC Lens > excellent for Stade Malherbe

I think I'm with the majority when I say, "Who?" J/K. I think Caen will stay up if Gouffran gets 10+ goals. Or if Cost îl takes over as #1 keeper and does what Lloris did for Nice this season.

Re: Caen
Caen just signed Defender Karl Svensson from Rangers.
Young kid, 3 year contract, 21 appearances for Rangers.
Sounds good.
Anyone know anything about him?

Re: Caen
Wow, I hadn't realized that they signed him. That's impressive, actually. He's an international already, as I think he was in Sweden's WC squad, and he's got a lot of ability. He's the classic Patrik Andersson-type defender. Strong in the air, a bit slow on the ground, but if you accompany him with a speedy partner in central defense, it'll work out very well.

Yeah, I just saw it on mercato365. I hope they can sign one or 2 more players like that.
Hell, sign some Lithuanians. That will make me REALLY happy.
....Or Totti........

Re: Caen
Gouffran is the key this year. They also need more speed from their fullbacks. I like Hengbart, but we need more speed.
Midfield has some nice acquisitions, including Gomis, who I like.
And I know a lot of people want Costil to take over at GK, but Plante is solid, and comes up big in situations.
And a wild card may be the young striker Grandin, who scored the best goal for them last year in my opinion, by faking out five defenders a la Ibrahimovic before smashing it home. He is good and fast as lightning.
They were up 2 years ago and went right back down. I hear they are serious about staying up this year. I only hope Gouffran stays the entire year. He has an offer on the table from PSG and several other big clubs in England.
Allez Malherbe!!!!!!

Re: Caen
Gouffran may not even begin this year. Wenger wants him at Arsenal for 2 million quid.
That would be horrible.
Edit: Fortin also says that they are done making moves......
Lets see what happens.
