Default Jérémie Aliadière to Middlesborough

Middlesbrough have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign French striker Jeremie Aliadiere in the wake of Mark Viduka's departure from the Riverside.

A move and fee has been agreed "in principle" and will be completed in the next couple of weeks when the 24-year-old returns from holiday.

He holds the record in the FA Youth Cup for the most amount of goals scored. In addition, the head coach at the famous Clairefontaine academy in France, stated: "The three best strikers ever to come out of here in the past 10 years have been Nicolas Anelka, Thierry Henry and Jeremie Aliadière; all of whom have played or are playing for Arsenal at the present time. Aliadière also won the best young talent in the Carling Cup season 2003–04.

This is one of the most positive buys of the season in the Epl and I cant wait to see Aliadirre play next season for Middlesborough, I bet everybody will forget about Viduka as soon as he starts scoring goals. It may take a while for him to get use to playing at the Riverside but this is a big positive for his career because now he will be considered to be the key player for the Boro's and this move can only help him grow moral and in confidence!

Relatively happy, hope he can shake off his injury problems and have a chance to prove himself.

For the money i think it was a good deal

In my opinion it's a bit of a gamble.

He's never quite looked good enough for Arsenal, granted many players can't make it at Arsenal and are still good enough for the majority of other Premiership sides however he didn't exactly set the world alight when he was on loan at Wolves in the Championship either.

Diomansy Kamara would of been a better bet.

Based on his 5 goals in 51 Premiership games that is hard to believe, especially given that WBA apparantly want over £5m for him.
