2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup [R] [LFC Forum]
Figured we could use a thread on this with all the USA/Mexico talk going on in the main forum.
The tournament gets underway today. USA's first game is tomorrow and Mexico play their first on Friday.
Anybody plan on going to any games? None of the group games are anywhere near me, but I've considered going to Chicago if we make the semis.

I'm confused, is this the "Copa D'Oro" dumbed down so you guys will know what you're playing for. Or is it a different competition?
We wouldn't want it to sound too foreign, calling it football is bad enough....

 Depends on the dip, (no, not the one using the computer) as long as you don't serve regurgitated beans.

Not a big fan of the Gold Cup but we have to represent and be the best CONCACAF have to offer...wherever Mexico is we should be there and beat the bejeezus out of them...what I'm excited about is Copa America.
We won't win a thing though if we play like we did vs Guatemala.

Ah yes 1-0 win to the USA. Not the most beautiful game, but a win is a win. I think we will have a much tougher time against T&T.
Donovan=terrible free kick taker
Gooch=kind of a hot head, his stock has fallen considerably now
Nice to see Dempsey and Twellman combine to score a goal, all started by a well worked header from DM Beasley.

Re: 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup [R] [LFC Forum]
Went to the Gold Cup game in Miami on Wednesday night. I only stuck around for the first half of the Haiti vs. Guadeloupe. Wasn't very entertaining, but must admit that Haiti brought their local band out and played some great beats throughout the game. The weather also didn't help things out, but I probably wouldn't recommend going to it unless your country is playing. Hopefully the other groups provide more entertaining matches.
