Default Update on a heartfelt apology to England

Ok, I admit some of the things I wrote were easy to misinterpret. I'm not blaming the USA or Americans for the commercialism of football. I should have said my condolonces to English fans from a yank. All I meant was being a sports fan I know what it feels like to have corporations rip your team and sport away from you. As in baseball. "My" Cincinnati Reds are no longer my Cincinnati Reds. For one the players hardly stick around long enough for me to get to know them and secondly I feel no loyalty to the city or fans from the current Reds. How and why should i be loyal to a team thats not loyal to me. I was just writing to say I know how English fans feel if this is happening. And thanking English fans for showing me what true passion was all about. Now as for me being a wanna be Geordie or wanna be Englishman I take offense to that. I will not however backdown what i said about preffering the EPL to the MLS. If you prefer the MLS to the EPL, you need to get a doctor to look at that. You probably also like the French basketball league and and William Shatner's version of " Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds" to the original. Ain't nothing like the real thing !

Nothing wrong with liking the EPL..especially americans..its an english league, similar type of "soccer"...just talent levels are WAYYYYYYYY higher.

But who complain that the MLS is too boring because of low crowd attendance, and DON'T support a team, or the league are HYPOCRITES..I think we can all agree.

People who say that soccer in america, has no passion, or is boring either need to start supporting the league, or of course the sport will have a low following. And with this commericializing of the English game..I mean it was bound to happen.

But trust me, until they start having TV timeouts then the football in england is safe. THE ENGLISH WON'T LET COMMERCIALISM RUIN THEIR FOOTBALL....TRUST ME.

Default WTF O Fenomeno

You accused me of faking a geordie accent and reciting "God Save The Quuen" simply because it was the EPL and England's national team and fans that got me "into" soccer. I got bashed for that thread. I dont think people realized what I was trying to say. By the way I am a supporter of the USMNT. Im not too big on MLS though simply because it still feels and looks like minor leagues to me. If I had to pick between watching a "big" MLS game say DC United v LA Galaxy or watching an average EPL game say Tottenham v Blackburn. Id choose the EPL game everytime its simply more entertaining and a better brand of soccer.

You made your first mistake there. No one in Newcastle likes England.

Look, I never claimed to be English. I never said I preffered England to America. I prefer their soccer to ours though. I prefer the atmosphere their fans bring . Thats all. Thats not being a benedict arnold, that's just being real and not some xenophobic bitter american soccer fan who knows deep down there's nothing that cool about the MLS or USMNT right now. So on your guys philosophy and motives, the next time i go to a CD store instead of buying something by Zeppelin or the Beatles or Stones, Ill buy some crap from Foreigner or Aerosmith, because to prefer something English is to be a Benedict Arnold.
