Question about English Soccer
As an American, I would like to know one thing about English football. For an English club, what is the ranking order of most desirable to win in any season and why: the FA Cup, the Premiership, the Carling Cup, and the Champions League?

I think you're right, although quite a few clubs might put the Premiership above the Champions League from time to time e.g. Liverpool at the moment.

Re: Question about English Soccer
Why is the Premiership more valuable than the CL?
Bragging rights in Europe vs. bragging rights in England.

Well, it's because Europe is a shithole, the FA Cup was this years biggest prize, after the league.

Because it takes consistancy over 38 games to win the Premiership. If you get a favourable group draw (especially if you are seeded) then you only have to play well in around half a dozen games in the second half of the season to have s shot at winning the Champions League.

Correct. As lanman stated, winning over 38 games is a far greater indicator of quality and it gives you bragging rights over your direct rivals. The league always come first. If the CL was that important then other sides would chose to throw the league like Liverpool. They got to two finals winning one but so what? No-one else in the UK cared because the league is always the priority.

Because a lot of fans like to get the bragging rights over other english clubs. Plus Champions League is a cup that anyone can win, a league is over 38 games and you have to be very consistant to win it.
