Default Places to stay in Lyon???

I've bought tickets (plane & game) for the Confederations Cup. Only through the first week (18th-25th), only the US games.

I want to stay in Lyon but have yet to make any plans - been a bit busy and lazy. Does anyone have advice? Will the city be crowded? Should I hurry up and reserve a place?

Is there anyone looking to share a room? I'm an American graduate student coming down from Edinburgh, where I'm studying.

Can email me here:

Thanks!

Through Google i found this about Hostels...

http://www.find-hostels.com/internat...ostel/Lyon.php

I don't know anything about any of the hostels, but i hope that helps!

How long are you staying?

I don't have any place to stay for the night of the 27'th, 28'th and 29'th (29'th in Paris)

I'm staying the nights of the 18th - 23rd. Just for the first round US games. I figure I'll be in Lyon all of those nights. And take the train away and back from St. Etiene for the Turkey game.

The whole trip for me has been last minute. I was shocked to find FIFA still selling tickets a couple weeks ago, and then with the cheap flights, I just pulled the trigger.

I just have to figure out a place to sleep.

I was a last minute planner too. I'm staying here:

Prices seem good, the place looks ok and it appears to be centrally located to visit interesting sites. Are you flying into Lyon? How much were the plane tix?

I'm flying from the UK, where I'm at school now. So the flight was cheap. Less than $150.

I saw that hotel you listed, thanks, but since I'm travelling alone, I'm not sure if I'd be willing to pay that much for a room for myself - when I'm just planning to sleep there and be out and about all day.

I've posted on the yahoo message board - which looks more active on this subject - about a roommate. But might end up in a hostel, possibly at a friend of a friend's place, or maybe just biting the bullet on the hotel.
