Default Supporting NTs outside of your own

I have a question for you guys, not only on what NT you support, but why?

I've been born and raised here in the US, never lived outside it, and I of course support the USMNT to the end. However, I also own an England jersey, am going to see Ireland play this month, and am an avid supporter of both countries NT's. Recently, I was questioned about this. So I raise the question to all of you, do you guys generally support national teams from countries outside your own?

I support England and Ireland NTs because these are the countries of my heritage. Most American's are born here but have family heritage from other countries (unless you are 100% Native American, a huge rarity). Do you all do the same?

i was cheering the english national team for many years before i even knew there was a US national team. it wasn't until 1990 that i came to really know the us nats, and it wasn't until the 98 that i followed the US in the world cup with as great an interest as england (didn't go so well). it was shortly thereafter that the US actually began to regularly play anywhere other than a few venues on the coasts, and my allegience really developed. building crew stadium helped immeasurably.

i would definitely have to say that i'm now more aligned to the USMNT than to england - which is, i suppose, natural and proper. the mexico rivalry has become downright tasty, as well, which is nice.

so it's US, then england, and no one else merits a mention. but i'm still a 'club over country' guy, and the only club that really matters is tottenham hotspur.

1) US
2) Poland (heritage)

I like following other teams more than others, as well. It's kind of depends on the situation, but I generally will follow England, Ireland, Germany, and the like.

England, Scotland, Argentina, Brazil (especially when they play each other!!) and african sides like Ghana and Ivory Coast.

For teams I don't have a supporting interest I like to see attacking displays. Argentina, Brazil and these West African sides do this fearlessly - and create some hilarious errors at the back.

England are the only national team that I support.

Though I like watching some of the African nations and the South American ones.
