Default What's an „Englischen Woche“

I've seen this a few times. Most lately at the Bayern site. Can someone explain how this term came into use???

'Englische Woche' means that a team has to play weekend - weekday - weekend rhythm (instead of only playing weekend). It is called English week as the EPL has more teams and quite often had such a rhythm while the regular league system only knew it about two or three times a season. The teams in international competitions usually always have English weeks.
