Great players and their partnerships
Throughout the history of the game, we have been blessed to have seen or at least hear of the great partnerships involving great players. These pairings can be defensive or offensive yet these pairings can be associated with greatness. Some of the most notable are Di Stefano and Puskas for Real Madrid and Pele and Garrincha for Brazil. What are some other great partnerships and more specifically, can anyone point out if Maradona actually had a great partnership with anyone? There could be his partnership with Careca at Napoli or his partnership with Caniggia for Argentina but they can't be compared with the pairings mentioned.

Re: Great players and their partnerships
Maradona seemed to form a special friendship off the field with Caniggia. Mrs. Caniggia was not too happy when they kissed on the field.
Pele and Garrincha always seemed to be linked up as they never lost a game when they played on the same field.

yep.
They've won a CL in 2003, a Scudetto in 2004, a World Cup in 2006, and they are once again in the CL Final this year.

I always thought that Thierry Henry and Robert Pires had an uncanny understanding. With this sort of telepathy you'd have thought they'd been gestated in the same womb.
