As we all know, Toronto has yet to score a goal or get a point and has given up 10. We just had our first loss. Bad time for Toronto to have their "official" home opener. We're sending 200 Chicagoans to the game so make sure you're watching the game with the sound up because this atmosphere would be worth watching on it's own.

    Fire win 3-0.

BTW, I don't know what you call this, but I call it compensation:

I can now stop considering starting a thread asking that a game thread be started! : - )

    Hooray!

There is an [R] in the title!

Oh yeah - as for the game. After last week, we needed a game against Toronto. I predict S8 is going to do us proud, and that the match atmosphere will be electric.

Good news is that they still suck, no matter how good their fans sound. Fire win this one. Pretty easily. 3-1 or 3-0. I think Rolfe and Barrett each get one, and either Mapp or Thiago gets the other - whichever ends up playing more.

  3. I really should read the first post before I pipe in.

I could have just said ditto and been done with it.

    Carry on.

I don't want to be the first team to surrender a goal to them.

BUT - I think they're finally due to snatch at least one from us due to law of averages and my gut feeling.

To be frank I'm a tad worried we'll be the first team to give them a point.

I think it'll end 1-1. Please prove me wrong Mr. Lawn Gnome.

Oh and I'm working while this is match is happening and I DON'T have FSC at this point in time. Hopefully 'someone' ;) 'caps' this match from the FSC feed or 'knows' someone who'll be doing it...

...you know who you are. :D

    word.
Unless someone else does it while I'm in Toronto, it'll probably have to wait until Sunday Night though.

A minor request, but I'd really like to see the CBC version instead of the Max Bretos Scream Hour version.

Law of averages to hell. I saw their game against KC, and they aren't good. And despite us generally playing poorly on turf, that still shouldn't stop us.

I think Mo needs to worry about winning a game or even scoring a goal before he gets in pissing matches.

    I did enjoy this quote:
"I would think they would be more concerned about playing in front of only 7,000 or 8,000 fans (in Chicago), than our turf in Toronto," Johnston said.

But Liam....he speaks English and actually gets emotional while announcing a match....we need a bit of that every once in a while....

Wow... You know your team sucks when the head coach has nothing but fan smack left...

Also, I like Max Bretos just fine... It's Christopher friggin Sullivan I want to douse in kerosene.

I saw this and laughed not only at Mojo, but at the writer who spelt "practices" wrong. It's probably tough to motivate your team when you continually bring new players in and out and get shut out of every game.

Then listen to TFC's announce team. Simply the best in MLS.

Sullivan is an OUTSTANDING color man. He has exceptional insight, knows the game inside/out and sideways, and never resorts to the Rob Stone style.

His only shortcoming is his inability to say anything bad about someone. I think he suffers from Wynaldaphobia - the fear of being fired for being totally honest while announcing MLS matches.

I take it the practices comment was your poke at the Canadians? ;)

I'm not sure how we line up for this one. Guerrero may have just been gassed at the end of the New England match, and he's consistently one of our best players, so I don't think you sit him. Mapp is presumably healthy, but Thiago is playing well. I think Sega is probably odd man out.

    G Pickens
    D Brown Curtin Robinson
M Mapp Armas Thiago Gutierrez Guerrero
    F Barrett Rolfe

If Guerrero does sit, Dave will probably go with Mapp at LM and Pause at RM, although Robinson acquitted himself alright getting forward, so Robinson at RM and Sega at LB is still possible.

Our backline vs. Dichio should be entertaining.

Can anybody verify that the game will be on DirectKick or not? I don't get the Fox Soccer Channel, so if its not on DK i'll have to find someplace else to watch it.
