Default Dimitar Berbatov vs. Dirk Kuyt

Two of my favourite strikers, both relatively young, both first choice forwards for their countries, both playing their first season in the Premier League, both tall and elegant players who are known for their pacific temper.

Who is currently the better player, what are the future prospects for them?

When has Kuyt ever been elegant? DIfferent type of striker but Berbatov gets the nod for me. Great to see him continue to impress and immediately make an impact in the Premiership.

They're both great this season but they are two different playeres. Berbatov is more of a classi #9 while Kuyt is a supporting striker.

Both do a lot off the ball work. Berbatov is silky smooth and his first touch is simply incredible that helps set up a lot of Keane and Defoe's goals. Kuyt's workrate is second to none and he has incredible stamina that tire the oppositions defense. His first touch isn't nearly as good but he does score some important goals.

Together, I think they'd work really well.

Nice comments, I tend to agree that both players have impressed this season and are likely to continue to improve.

Teso Dos Bichos, I think that Kuyt has very good technical skills and is capable of producing good medium range shots - I remember that he almost caught Ricardo off guard from a difficult angle (Portugal vs. Netherlands, 2006 World Cup) in the 80th minute of the game (if I am not mistaken), perhaps he could work even more on scissor-like kicks. That's what I find elegant about his game, he is not averse to attempting novel shots (though long-distance shots are not his forte).

Berbatov has proven to be amazingly adaptable and has excellent ball control and is also a very skillful passer.

They could play together if Liverpool decided to buy Berbatov (however, for the moment he is likely to stay in Tottenham, Tottenham supporters are very loyal and have helped him feel at home in the Premier League).

Dimitar for me.

But then again, I'm slightly biased.

Just a slight nitpick, is 26 and 27 young or relatively young?

Berbatov for me, I enjoy his style/skills
