Crew vs. Galaxy :: Post-Game
I was excited to see Szetela (sp?) and Rogers based on the hype at bigsoccer. Both of them suck unbelievably bad, ditto Moss and Country-Music Ward sucked too. Looks like Sigi had the right 11 all along.
Hope Gruenebaum stays healthy. We have no depth at GK.

Ward was bad, Szetela was bad, it basically sucked. Herron looked like he was sleeping, I know a winger is supposed to play on the wing but for Christ's sakes get in the effing box on some of those crosses.
And as far as the GK thing goes, paging Noah Palmer...

Sweet avatar. I missed Guille at the half. So he's #7 again!?
also: Gonzales is a perfect defender. He is our best player (pre-Guille).

When they introduced him at halftime, he was wearing a sweatshirt. I don't know where that picture came from.

Re: Crew vs. Galaxy :: Post-Game
That game was a waste of time and money. God i wish i had those 4.5 hrs back. We had no offense the entire night. Most everyone sucked. But there were a few things that were very clear.
Sigi really is going with his best lineup for the real games. Every non started that played and started tonight was not effective in any way. That also went for many of the regular starters.
Gonzo really is our best player right now. He is a pure defender. I am more impressed every time i watch him play. I love his positioning.
Frankie is more important to this team than many people realize. Without him, we lost a lot of bite. Say what you will about the two footed tackles on occasion, but his hustle and determination were missed dearly.
I had no idea what formation we were playing, but it seemed like i still had more of a clue than most the players.
The team really lacked any determination to win. With about 1 min stoppage time left, we had 5 people behind the ball, with control on LA's side of the field!?! There was no urgency or any type of willingness to try for a goal. I think i saw one decent shot on goal the entire second half.
Pathetic

Re: Crew vs. Galaxy :: Post-Game
One of the worst Crew matches I've ever seen in my life.
I think Moss played his way to the bench for reserve matches with this performance, he was far and away the worst player in the stadium.
I have no idea what the hell was even going on out there. Like it was said, there was no real formation and the guys were just running around clueless. Sigi pretty much conceded this match from the start by running out O'Rourke/Szetela/Oughton in the midfield and playing only one forward (Herron, who could even stay up top). Eddie Gaven needs to sit for a long while and I would have liked to see Virtuoso play in his place. Bonehead play by Gaudette on the goal, he should have taken control of the play and instead he said nothing and forced Gonzo to make a play on the ball because he wasn't sure what to do.
Also, can we get the guys some new shoes? We were falling and slipping like crazy for the 2nd straight match.

Re: Crew vs. Galaxy :: Post-Game
glad I missed this one. Got 6 more pages done on my Law and Social Policy paper and saved myself what would have been a wasted 50 bucks. Save it all for this Saturday. Congrats to the Galaxatives it just means one more distraction and a less of a chance of them getting to MLSCUP as a result. The good is we can focus on regular season matches solely, the bad is there goes one cup we could have won in a game we should win at home.
Pretty disappointing result. This is when we could use a actual media to grill the team over this result. But, no one will question or care. This team has no pressure on them to perform.

Re: Crew vs. Galaxy :: Post-Game
Did Gaudette suck badly enough to be removed during the 1st half (per MLSnet matchtracker)?
Or was it just another traditional Columbus goalkeeper injury?

Yeah, I forgot about that, but I noticed that they kept slipping and tripping over themselves. It was like they were playing soccer on ice or something! It was very frustrating!

Gaudette was pure, unadulterated garbage. But he did limp off the field, so not sure how severe the injury was. In any event, he was, in fact, pure garbage.
