If Lew Wolff gets a stadium deal for the San Jose Earthquakes, it won't be with San Jose State. Evidently the offer of a $80M stadium to be shared between the Spartan gridiron team and the SJE, in return for the use of the land upon which the stadium would stand, plus a split of the revenue from any other events, was insufficient for SJSU's president Kassing, who reportedly wanted a guaranteed $5M annual revenue stream as well.
SJSU's gridiron team will continue to enjoy the decrepit Spartan while Lew takes his stadium deal search elsewhere, and Kassing, when he wakes up, will wonder from where his next fantasy stadium offer will appear. Yeah, Don, that one was too good to be true, and you blew it.
