My 6 y.o. was watching the game with me and asked me why they didn't just run past the ball and hit it out with their butts... That might have looked better then what they ended up doing.

Ahaha, kids can be so cute.
And I have to agree, that might have actually worked opposed to what they did eventually.

I'm working on him.  It's kind of tough as he(and his 4 y.o. brother) have only seen them on TV, and we don't get that many games on TV in the last year or two. I'm hoping we go to Germany at some point in the next year - if he goes to a game there I should have him hooked. He liked Stajner, 'dolo & Enke. He wasn't too impressed with our centerbacks, though.

That play reminds me of my first WCQ game I saw in person - USA-Costa Rica in April 2001. It was either Claudio Reyna or Josh Wolff who lobbed the keeper. However, instead of playing the ball with his chest, the Costa Rican defender bicycled the ball off the line! Brilliant save!
