I think the new typeface is a huge improvement. The old one was a stretched version of the Optima font and has never been easy to read.

The new typeface choice is elegant and traditional, but doesn't look outdated.

A) looks great--really--damn.

B) how long till it's on the blogs? someone probably found a pirated version of your mock-kit before you posted here--on streaming video and downloadable torrent late last friday...

It is, most likely, a custom font. Maybe someone with the requisite skill will recreate it, but it is not a font that you can go out and buy now.

I love it. It's a huge upgrade on the font the EPL uses now. Can't wait to put that on a home shirt.

Yeah, the old one wasn't exactly Optima either, but it was pretty darn close. I'm curious to see these new kits.

I know some people said the replacement kits they were sent by Nike had some of the features of the 07-08 kits. I'm curious if some of those kits have the new font.

I tracked down the Sporting iD web site, but it appears to be dead... I was going to look at the font closer to see some of its characteristics.

R&W, where'd you find that image?

I found it on the Equipment section of SoccerPulse.

The people on SoccerPulse get hold of some cool stuff, way before it's official. I saw the new fall Nike catalog back in February.

I'm not sure what that new EPL font is, either - could be a proprietary design for the FA. I'll try and find out.
