Default Pre Crew vs RBNY Season Opener

Saw this on MLSnet and thought it shows what we may be facing on SAT for the season opener:

http://www.mlsnet.com/news/team_news....jsp&team=t107

Especially interested in:
"It wasn't until the end of the first half that the Orange begin to get a grip on the game. That was helped when New York's Dema Kovalenko was ejected after receiving his second caution in the half for a crunching two-footed tackle on Brian Mullan. Playing a man down, the Red Bulls struggled to maintain the run of play through the remainder of the half."

What kind of punk pulls this in a meaningless preseason game? Also interested in Mathis coming in for the second half. Lets hope he does the same against us and we only have to defend him for 45 minutes.

Does anyone know why Oughton didn't play vs KC?

Forcast for Opening Day. 45 degrees with a mix of rain and snow. That sucks.

yeah, I read that on weather.com. that is a big bummer. I was really looking forward to something that will make it easy for the casual fans and families to turn out.

with any luck, we'll get some surprise warm weather.

yeah true sometimes extended forcasts are not always on target. Last year we got over 20,000 for the home opener I believe but then again it was 70 degrees. I dont know why they dont just wait until the middle to end of April to schedule Northern teams at home.

Its not going to stop me from going. But I'm sure my father who is going to be with me is going to bitch about it. Especially if it snows. That will suck. I just hope the chance of snow goes away because its a long drive for me.

It's Kovalenko. What did you expect?

Cannot say I am that bothered by Mathis. Why are you worried about what the other team? Worry about how we are going to play first.

OK, so I know you've been on BigSoccer for 8 years, but... where have you been? It's Dema we are talking about - he did this to a teammate (Beasley) a US v Internationals All Star game!

I'm hoping that we're lucky enough to have him on the field for 90 minutes. Mathis is a has-been if there ever was one. He was ineffective two years ago and completely worthless last year. Unless he's made huge strides toward regaining the fitness and form he had three years ago, then I'm not worried about him in the least.

I'm lovin it! The forecast for cold temps, and my wife is going to her first ever MLS regular season match in the cold. Welcome back to Ohio! I'm telling her that the weather will be like those Bundesliga or EPL matches I've been watching, and hopefully the crowd will show up. Was anyone there a few years back when the fellas played L.A. on opening night and the temps were in the low 30's?
