That's true, but also gets me back thinking about another point. Is there no injured reserve in MLS? I mean from what I've heard about blood clots, Groenwald isn't gonna be playing this year, but he's on the roster. And if McMahen tore his ACL his season may be over as well. Both are technically on the roster for this season.

Does anyone have any idea who the player might be since Luciano de Bruno is out? It would be nice to shore up midfield, thats for sure.

well according to the guy on mlsunderground, he's heard some names, but doesn't name them. If you're really interested I guess you could email the guy that does it and see if he'll tell you the names he's heard.

Maybe now that we've partnered with Atlas, Preki will feel it a dishonor to be coaching Chivas and will come back to KC again. A couple days' training and he could probably be our best option at A-mid still.

I think if the rumor is true (is anyone aware of the position the author of MLSU is in to have this privileged information?), it will definitely be someone from Mexico or South America, given the current direction of the club. It would make the most sense to want to immediately capitalize on the buzz the Atlas deal has created.

...and a young A-mid from Latin America would sure help OnGoal's desire for trust from KC's more serious fans.

He's kidding, right? I know last year wasn't the best example, with him being gone for WC and all, but '04 and '05 he was near or at the top of our team in both of those stats.

2004: 10 goals, 7 assists
2005: 10 goals, 10 assists
2006: 5 goals, 2 assists

*sigh* Competent journalism yet again from Mr. Wynalda.

And the pending addition of an unnamed attacking midfielder could tilt the difference-maker factor a little further in the Wizards' direction.

There is a gaping hole at attacking midfielder, although the club may already have a solution in pocket, awaiting only a final contract signature.

If we're just waiting on someone to sign a contract hopefully that means we'll find out this week about our new signing.
