Default Shavar Thomas traded to LA

What can you KC experts tell us about Shavar? I've seen him play, of course, but since KC is one of the most underrepresented teams on TV broadcasts, I haven't seen him much.

We were desperate for a central defender, so that's good news for the Galaxy.

He's a damn fine center back. I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say that he will be sorely missed.

The ONLY reason he wasn't in our starting XI was because of Jimmy Conrad.

Good luck to Shavar.

Very solid; never felt nervous about him filling in for Conrad or Garcia. Not speedy but fast enough, good in the air. Maybe a little quiet vocally in the back, but he would've started on most other MLS squads. If he dedicates himself to getting in the best possible shape he can, he will be a great player for you.

Good luck Shavar, until we play you. You will be missed.

Always felt comfortable with him in back. It sucks he's leaving - he was a solid player that would start for most teams, but was a great sub or starter when Garcia, Conrad, etc wasn't around or injured.

Wow!! Great news for us!! Trust us... we're going to need it b/c we got royally shafted by the schedule.

But hey. Maybe this gives a youngster a chance to get some quality minutes?? A Chivas Guadalajara fan once said that moving players along to other teams is actually part of their strategy b/c it opens up room for youngsters to start reaching the next level.

One look at C'bus as they demolished FCD recently -- after 2 seasons of major injuries -- shows that this type of thing could pay off.

Especially if you aren't coached by Sampson.

Cheers!!

Well now.... Shavar will be missed. I guess Hohlbein and Wahl will get some minutes when Conrad is gone to Nats.

That leaves 2 roster spots for this season open now.

Assuming the trade is true.

so, it basically looks like we traded hartman for shavar, right? we gave la our 2nd round this year for hartman, and now they give us a conditional second round next year for shavar.

now we have no cover for nick and jimmy... well, at least no proven cover.

I was hoping that it would be Thomas for a A-mid type, like Gomez. Oh well.
