Default Mulrooney Traded: What of Joseph (paranoia edition)

I've typed this stupid conspiracy theory - and to emphasize, it is only that - but I have to say that the freshly announced trade of Richard Mulrooney to Toronto FC (hat tip), combined with the speculation here (see 4th "real" paragraph) has me wondering whether we'll see Shalrie Joseph in an FC Dallas uniform before too long.

So, join me in gloomy Paranoia Flats.

While I must admit that is what first came to mind for me as well, isn't this all happening WAY too fast? I mean, this only hit the fan hours ago.

Unless, SN and company made contingency plans weeks ago, and FCD & NE talked at the combine...and maybe at the draft. It just shocks the heck out of me that a rock thrown in a pond in Boston can make a big enough wave to toss a player from Texas to Toronto so fast.

FCD has been clearing cap room too, (over $400,000 recently), so, it seems that something else is in progress down there. Although maybe they would be open to doing a bit more for SJ. Heck, it seems like he could slide in easily now.

I cannot surf the net fast enough for more info!!

I can't really visuallize SJ in a dallas uniform...

From 3rd degree - First item

"The trade opened up a roster spot which FCD used to activate new signing, Colombian U20 Juan Carlos Toja."

They had someone else in mind I think. SJ is probably not going to FCD, at least not yet.

Actually, Mulroony to Toronto frees up Pepe, along with the other part of that partial allocation, to be traded back to the REVs for SJ

Which is just what the Revs need! Another partial to add to the collection and a player that was never permitted to play to his strengths by SN.

I'm thinking the Mulrooney trade had nothing to do with Shalrie.

If you're FCD, you don't trade Mulrooney unless you've got something else in the bag. And if you've got Shalrie, you announce the two deals at the same time. You don't put yourself in a position where the Revs can jack up the asking price because you don't have your starting central midfielder any more.

I'm guessing that with Edu and Mulrooney that Toronto won't see the need for Shalrie.
