Re: How not to run a MLS franchise
Mistakes are being made, true.
But really, is this that big of a news story? A pro team losing $14 million?
I'm sure there are MLB or NBA teams that have lost that much, if not more, in one season.
If they lose $14 million after a season or two at Red Bull Park, then we can sound the alarms. Right now, this just tells us what we already know. Mistakes have been made by RBNY.

Re: How not to run a MLS franchise
I don't think a team turned a profit until the 9th year. To this day I think only 3 or have turned a profit Even if just one season.

Better count on TFC making a profit.
I'm confident Houston, RSL, and DCU don't have problems either.

Re: How not to run a MLS franchise
It's simple. The corporate sponsors jumped ship because nobody wants to cheer for a walking soda can advertisement. I still hold on to the impossible dream that the Yankees turn into a multi-sport franchise and buy the Metrobulls and turn them into the Yankees. It'll never happen, but it never hurts to dream.

I thought they where owned by their biggest sponsor...
Considering what money Red Bull are making and are currently using to sponsor different sporting events IŽd say that they will not flinch until they have lost say $300-400m.
In some countries they make more money than Coca-Cola.

And then half of the tri-state area fans tell you to go F. yourself. I moved to go to university in Santa Barbara and I would still see Yankees hats walking around downtown. (which just goes to show there are A**holes everywhere you go.)

Re: How not to run a MLS franchise
Agreed, I grew up in SB and don't understand how people could support the Yankees, while being born in Southern California. I wonder how much Red Bulls are hurting themselves by waiting to bring out the marketing campaign when RB Park is opened. They have a great product as it is now, just no one knows about it. I have friends in NY that follow soccer that didn't even know where the team played, that's ridiculous.
