Default Huge thank you to Rick

As one of the 40-odd ArseAm members who travelled to London last weekend to watch the match against Reading, I wanted to publicly thank Rick for his hard work in putting it together.

I probably sent him 10-15 emails myself... if you multiply that by 40 that is quite a committment to get us all set up. Factoring in the fact that he does this every week during the season speaks to the amount of time that he devotes to Arsenal America.

I went to Highbury last year on my own (before I knew about ArseAm) and it was a logistical nightmare. Not knowing any better I went through an internet broker and despite paying out the nose of the tickets I only received 3 of the 4 tickets that I bought.

This weekend went incredibly smoothly by comparison. The stadium tour was a huge highlight. It was good to meet some of the posters in person. Thanks again to Rick for making this a possibility.

I'm usually against sucking up to rick on the board, after all he's not really that cool of a guy. Bottom line, Rick makes dreams realities and he'll never completely understand the debt we all owe him.

I'm glad you started this thread, as I was contemplating a similar course of action. I was also one of the many that attended the Reading match, the Stadium tour, and the PSV Einhoven match. With my wife, her sister, her sister's boyfriend, we had four in our group, and (despite the result against PSV) we all had a great time.

Thus, we want to give much respect to ArsenalAmerica, and many, many thanks to Rick, their man in London. Rick expends a huge amount of personal time and effort to make sure stateside Gooners get tickets to the matches and for that we are all grateful. I think his only personal gain from any of this, is the shit-eating grins on our faces when he hands over the tickets, and our undying appreciation.

We enjoyed meeting him in person, and hanging out with him before and after the matches. He is, in my opinion, to use the Yiddish expression, a true mensch!

Thanks Rick for everything. I'm sure our paths will cross again.

Also great to meet so many of you ArsenalAmerica members in person.

There is a video of him belting out "Sweet Caroline" out there. I was there when he did it and it still gives me the shivers.
