I posted this in the Arsenal v Reading thread but figured not everyone would be looking in there if they weren't going to that game, so here it is again...

what is the best way to get from the London Bridge tube stop to Arsenal?

it looks like you should be able to take the Northern Line to King's Cross/St Pancras and transfer to the Piccadilly line directly to Arsenal.

but, when i try the trip planner on journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk, it says there's no tube-only way to get between the two, and that I have to the Victoria line to Finsbury Park and then a bus to Arsenal?

you can take a bus from Finsbury Park to Arsenal, if you are lazy!

it is a short walk. and you'll want to hit the Tavern up before the match and it is on the way from Finsbury to the new stadium

I definitely don't mind walking, but don't really want to be wandering unfamiliar streets, especially given the directions are specific from the Arsenal stop, and I'm supposed to walk 50 yards and look for a blue tarp.

if you can get out at Finsbury and see the stadium, or if there are signs directing you, then that's cool. Otherwise I'd rather just take the tube directly to Arsenal, since we're on a time schedule to meet Rick for the grounds tour & ticket pickup and I don't know my way around.

so - is there any reason you can't transfer to the Piccadilly Line from the Northern Line (the 'plan your journey' website seems to think there isn't), and if you can how long should you estimate the journey taking?

if you are meeting people and everything, get off at the Arsenal stop, much closer to the ground and you won't get lost finding the stadium.

you should be able to transfer at Kings Cross.

you could always take the Victoria Line to Finsbury and then a Picadilly train south from Finsbury to Arsenal

Did you put in the date you are travelling? Arsenal stop is having work done until March 3rd. So for example, that site says you need the bus on March 1st; but you are ok to take the Northern Line, changing at Kings Cross to the Picadilly line to Arsenal on the March 3rd. Also, things would be easier for you going to the Arsenal stop as everything-- Rick/Pub/Stadium-- is right there.

Someone probably knows more about the work being done at Arsenal, and make sure you give yourself time in case late work is being done, or service is down, on any lines causing you to use a longer route. Here is the link on the Arsenal work http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/press-cent....asp?prID=1066

Sean is right, there will be a difference to what it says depending on the day. On the 2nd, take the Northern to King Cross and then the Piccadilly to Holloway Road to meet me as per my latest PM. On the 3rd for the game you can take the Northern to Kings Cross and change for the Piccadilly to Arsenal.
