Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
Decided to use a question from another thread to start this one.

At least the defense in my lineup would be pretty much the one the club's official website speculates Jürgen Röber will use if he chooses not to play Phillipp Degen or Degen just cannot go.
Degen is suffering from a deep thigh bruise just above his knee, but yesterday, in an article at the club's official website, www.borussia-dortmund.com, Degen stated that he's sure he'll be ready to go come Saturday.
To be honest, I wouldn't chance it. I would go with the following lineup.
GK: Weidenfeller
Right Back: Metzelder
Central Defense: Amedick, Woerns
Left Back: Kringe
Sweeper: Tinga
Half right midfield: Ricken
Half left midfield: Kruska
Central midfield: Sahin
Strikers: Smolarek, Frei
For those wondering, "Metzelder at right back? Is he crazy?" Metzelder played right back very well for BVB when Evanilson was here and we had no backup for him. To be honest, he did it so well, I wanted the club to convert Metzelder to right back and sell Evanilson. And today, as with many suggestions made to them back then, the club probably wishes they had listened to some of the advice it got. But as I've said elsewhere, back then, I think they were too afraid to seriously alter the team.
Just too f#cking scared......
Anyhow, some tidbits about this Hannover match.
As stated above, Degen is questionable, but will try to play. If Degen plays, Metzelder will probably be paired in the center with Amedick. I'd give Wörns another week to get back into playing condition.
Kehl is going to Hannover with the team, but I don't expect him to see action.
Pienaar is out with his ankle ligament damage. He's expected to be out for at least three weeks.
Both Brzenska and Dede are suspended. Brzenska for seeing his fifth yellow last week against Gladbach and Dede is serving the second match of a three match red card suspension. Barring injury or other unforeseen circumstances, Brzenska will be available again for next Sunday's home match with Cottbus. Dede should return the next week at Bochum.
Degen is sitting on his fourth yellow card at the moment. To be honest, if I were Jürgen Röber, I would hold Degen out of this match and have him get intentionally booked against Cottbus. With Dede back against Bochum the next week, we can simply play Kringe at right back for that one match.
Kicker has Hannover's projected lineup as follows:
Enke, Cherundolo, Vinicius, Zuraw, Tarnat, Balitsch, Lala, Rosenthal, Yankov, Huszti, Stajner
Brdaric is out after undergoing knee surgery and their resurgent defender, Frank Fahrenhorst, is out due to seeing his fifth yellow card last week. For Hannover, Balitsch, Tarnat and Huszti are all sitting on their fourth yellow card.
According to "kicker", we have won seven of the last eight matches against Hannover in Hannover. They have only been able to pull a 1-1 draw in 2003/04 during that period. Hannover last beat us at their home in 1970/71.
Most see that and think it's a good omen for us. I think it's a bad one. This has been a season of ending streaks for us and only one has been good.
We finally beat Bayern again.
We'd never lost to Mainz before this season. We lost to them. We'd won like 12 years in a row in Hamburg. We lost there. We'd been unbeatable against Hertha at home. We lost to them.
If there's any season we can lose in Hannover, it's this one.
I'm not saying we're going to lose. What I am saying is that the fact we haven't lost in Hannover since the 70's doesn't mean jack shit and I think the team who gives the best effort will win this match.

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
Hannover 96 Enke - Cherundolo, Vinicius, Zuraw, Tarnat - Balitsch, Lala - Rosenthal, Yankov, Huszti - Hashemian
Trainer: Hecking
Borussia Dortmund Weidenfeller - P. Degen, Amedick, C. Metzelder, Kringe - Tinga - Ricken, N. Sahin - Frei - Valdez, Smolarek
Trainer: Röber
After 10 minutes, Hannover started best, but no notable actions except for Degen picking up his fifth yellow in the sixth minute. Degen made a bad pass that was intercepted by Huszti, who Degen pushed down afterwards. A "cheap" yellow, but one that might put us in a bind next week.
12th minute: Frei earns a free kick just outside the Hannover area. Frei takes the free kick and forces Enke into a marvelous diving save.
14th minute: Tarnat takes a free kick that forces Weidenfeller into a nice diving stop.
16th minute: I'm going back to the TV.....

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
18th minute: After great work by Valdez to get past Vinicius down the (BVB's direction) left flank, Valdez puts the ball in the middle where Ricken promptly MISSES THE OPEN HANNOVER NET!!
Still 0-0......
Have to say Valdez is playing determined and well so far.

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB [R]
Halftime in Hannover. Still 0-0. Just before the halftime whistle, Frei sent Smolarek in on Enke with defenders on Smolarek and Enke didn't leave Ebi much of a chance to put the ball past him. The ball bounced back toward goal, but a Hannover defender cleared it just before it rolled into the Hannover goal.
Hannover had the most goal chances, but BVB clearly had the best ones.
Still, in my mind a pretty much boring match.
Hope it gets better in the second half......

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
56th minute: Valdez pulls down Hashemian in the BVB penalty area. Almost ripped his shirt off. Clear penalty.
Huszti converts. 1-0 Hannover. No complaints. Clear f#cking penalty.
Valdez should have just let Weidenfeller handle the situation. That would have been better than handing them a penalty kick!!
Then, NOT TWO MINUTES LATER Valdez kicks a ball into the stands in frustration! The f#cking idiot already had one yellow card! He got his second and sent the hell off.
So now, not only are we losing 1-0, we're down to 10 men!!
Thank you Nelson Valdez, you f#cking idiot!!
Hey! Herr Watzke! I'll bet you stupid f#ckers still think that was 4.5M Euros well spent!!!

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
69th minute: Hannover attack down the right flank. Huszti crosses and Stajner put an unstoppable header past Weidenfeller from about 13 meters out.
2-0 Hannover.
Lots of heads down on the BVB side of the pitch. But after that second, they still are trying to go forward.
73rd minute now.....

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
76th Minute: BVB are caught forward trying to attack. Stajner sends Bruggink in all alone on Weidenfeller as the BVB defense looks like they don't want to play anymore.
Bruggink made no mistake. 3-0 Hannover and it's getting out of hand.
Oh, and as I'm typing this, Bruggink scores again in the 78th minute.
4-0 Hannover.
F#ck........

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
You can only laugh. BVB fans started to file out of the stadium after that fourth Hannover goal as the Hannover fans sang "Auf Wiedersehen!"
Some of you might not find that funny, but I thought it was funnier than hell.
I have to laugh at something. This pathetic BVB team makes me want to puke.....
Congrats Hannover fans!!!

Re: Matchday 23: Hannover 96 v. BVB
87th minute: Smolarek pulls back a consolation goal for BVB. Nice pass from Ricken, I think.....
89th minute: Hannover comes right back down and Kruska fouls Balitsch right at the top of the area. Dangerous free kick which Tarnat blasts just wide of the BVB goal.
90th minute: Saka wins a fight for the ball at the top of the Hannover area and feeds a streaking Kringe who blasts a piledriver past Enke!
After one minute of stoppage, Fandel sounds the final whistle.
We lose 4-2. So much for f#cking streaks.
Will BVB shut up about f#cking streaks this season now??!!!
