Twellman in the Fold (Joseph comments near bottom)

The Grenadan international made his first appearance in camp yesterday, but chose not to answer questions

"We're talking to him at the moment, and we're hoping we can get something done," said Nicol. "Obviously (not going to Celtic) was a major disappointment professionally for him

“We are not here to provide for anyone else. You don’t win championships by letting your best players disappear. Taylor has got his reward for his goals, Pat (Noonan) has got his reward for what he has done and now what we need to do is get Shalrie what he deserves.”

    John's Journey Stalls

John admits that knowing an offer was on the table from QPR makes accepting what has happened harder to take but he is determined to remain philosophical and focus on what he can control

I love that quote, we need to give Shalrie what he deserves. Great to hear we're trying to please out players. Avery John's another hard worker and played great last season so a pay raise would certainly not be a bad thing. Never thought I'd say this, but good job Front Office:)

John makes $36K and MLS turned down an offer from QPR? I sure hope they plan to give him a raise, a big fat juicy raise. I really feel bad for him.

If you ever saw John, he makes more then $36K.

    ?

The articles says "As well as the opportunity to vastly increase his salary – John earned a reported base income of $36,000 last year from MLS". Are you saying he makes substantially more through some sort of incentive deal, or he as an alternate income source?

They don't go home empty handed from international duty. Of course I think the Revs need to bump his base pay, but I know that's not the only salary he draws.

Stability in the core of a good roster is sure a very good thing.

Nice that the Revs had some Cap space saved up so they can now hand out some well deserved pay hikes. :D

Now all we need is for a few of the new bloods to step up and show they are of starting quality.

Team is almost ready to fly to Bermuda and they sky hasn't fallen yet. Amazing :p

I would not doubt he made some decent money last year because of the world cup but it is probably not even close to what the USMNT pays. Had he made the US team he would have gotten 37,500. Basically doubling his MLS salary. $3750 for each game played in the cup and then $3000 for friendlies. Then there are all sorts of bonuses he could have made......I would bet that he probably made about half that with T&T

I'm glad we've kept the players we've kept. I'm still wishing we could actually go to preseason with our full potential roster. Then again, maybe this is it and we're not going to use any of Dempsey's money for what it's supposed to be used for, and we're going to continue saving that allocation from last year. Which BTW is what many of us have been saying since ... oh ... November.

They've done that for Twellman, and perhaps Nooan as well, but who else gets a share of the spoils?

We still don't have any confirmation on Noonan do we?

And while they've given more money to at least one player (and might to another in Joseph), haven't they actually cut down the pay for both DH and Leonard?

    Noonan confirmation here:

I may be wrong, but I thought the DH paycut was before last season, not this one.

Will the Univision games be broadcasted on another station in English?

While I like Noonan, what exactly did he do the last two years that warrants a significant increase? He's scored 2 goals in regular season games since June 05. He made approx 90k last year ... if he got more than a 20% increase, I'd be surprised.

From what I can gather, the 8 games that TV38 won't carry are the 4 ESPN2 games, and the 4 FSC games, which means they will carry the Univision games.

Ah. I haven't seen any numbers, but Nicol's comments today in Hush's story make it sound like he got a raise:
