So the latest Rapidfire that just landed in my inbox a few minutes ago states the following:

    >>>
Change is coming, can you feel it in the air? Continuing with their recent spate of blockbuster announcements, the Rapids are set to reveal one of the biggest and most pivotal announcements in club history at the end of this week. Fans should make sure they stay glued to the club's website this Thursday and Friday to be the first to know what developments are in store!

What will the announcement be? Well, we can't give it away just yet........but portions of the graphic pictured at left might give you a hint into the nature of the announcement. The only way you can find out for sure is to keep checking back to the Rapids' official website at the latter part of this week!
    >>>

The graphic referenced basically shows N. and S. America, as well as Africa and Europe.

Any ideas? Did I miss something previously discussed?

"biggest and most pivotal announcements in club history"

What does that say about our history?

Some of us expect more than that.

As someone who feels the colors the Rapids wear ranks in significance right up there with the latest results from amateur lawn bowling, if the color change is
I may begin to question if I'm following the right team.

At first thats what I thought when I got the e-mail - but what the hell does that have to do with a picture of the four continents?

What comes to mind for me is a possible affiliation with a big club, as part of a larger re-branding effort, hopefully with the announcement of a planned play-date with said club.

Oh that. It is a passive reiteration of the Rapid’s long standing policy to not recognize Australia’s right to exist.

Set to sign agreements with clubs in other countries. So think of having the other clubs come here to train and Rapids players going to other places.

You didn't miss anything, it's just been off the radar for fans for awhile.

I bet they'd prefer to play over here as opposed to in the drop zone in England. :)

Except of course, for last weeks "most impactful" announcement in club history.

    "April 4th vs West Ham?"

Sounds like GoRapids knows something the rest of us don't!

    derby u.k.
Seeing as the Premiership will still be active in April I can't imagine Wet Spam flying over to Colorado at that time of year. The Rapids could possibly have a few pre season matches set up at training grounds over here at that time of year, but flying over for one game, I doubt it.

Actually I was just kidding ... I don't know anything.

There is suppose to be something April 4th ... but most people know about that.

Oh come on people. We all know what the announcement is don't we. Just like the last Big Announcement...we knew it from a previous supporter event.
Although I would love a big suprise that supporters don't know yet,I doubt it is...maybe something else about the April 4th "unofficial" opening of the DSG?

I'd love to start a rumor..but no one would believe me anyway..

West Ham in Denver.I knew that was BS..but man I'd love to see my beloved Irons play here someday.

I must admit that all the secrecy is getting me a little excited. If this is just a color change I will be let down and pissed at you, Marcus. :)

One of the banners on the Rapids' website is new.

    "Experience the new website: 2-1-07"

So that is part of the announcement.

I am not anticipating anything more than the color change announcement and maybe something about the opening of the new field. We all know MLS in general likes to push the hype for how important announcements are but they always oversell.

The Rapids in specific and MLS in general enjoy crying WOLF! When the wolf finally comes no one will be listening.

Rapids supporters enjoy taking the "Henny Penny, the sky is falling knee-jerk reaction. Perhaps this is a marriage made in Soccer heaven!!!
