I wonder if other leagues use video re-plays after the fact to sanction/suspend players?

Cubero was suspended for two games after America complained about that play with Blanco. I ask myself how do they determine how many games to suspend the player, and how does this condition the mexican player, does it pussify the mexican player?

I'm not dissagreeing with the suspension, by the way, clearly he did punch Blanco from behind, but forget the names of the involved for a second. If you played futbol in a organized league. you know this cheap shots happen all the time, and you expect them and adjust. So mi question is, does it put Mexican players at a disadvantage, does it set the wrong mind set when facing teams from other leagues?

virtually every league uses video re-play when making a case to their disciplinary committee. That is totally legitimate. They did the same with Vidrio (on Palencia), Marioni (on Godinez), etc.

It is not like the official looked at the stadium monitor to determine the foul.

The FMF has statutes that the disciplinary uses to determine the severity of the infraction and the length of punishment.

I have not read them in a while... but for example...

red card - 1 game suspension
reckless foul (unsportsmanship) - 1 game
insulting the ref (unsportsmanship) - one game
inciting a fight - 1 game

they just tally them up....

Remember that famous brawl between America-Chivas match in 1986? Carlos Hermosillo got a 6 game suspension because he not only incited the fight, but started a 2nd brawl as well. They just tallyed up 6 infractions. Quirarte got 4 game suspension.

theyonly gave him 2 games?? WOW!! it wasw a clear Agression and i do believe an agression gets you three games! thats what happend to Kleber and Bofo!!

NSR but Bryant was suspended today for flailing his arm and catching Ginobli on the shnoz. No foul was called in the game, but the disciplie folks chose to punish him for it.

I was thinking about the replay thing and the 02 world cup came to mind. Didnt a brazilian get suspended after faking getting hit in the face with the ball? It was against turkey I believe and the refs had red carded the turkish guy during the game. It wasnt untill after that the officials used video to determine the brazilian faked it.

he only got a fine, not a suspension.

also, chon chon, i think metalero was referring more toward the suspension of a player that wasn't carded.

speaking of suspension, or at one point we were... what do u guys think about Franco Mendoza del atlante, suspended 2 games for the gestures made towards the assisting ref?

My thoughts:

1st: why doesnt every player that disrespects a ref get red carded if that is the rule?

Is it becuase it happened to be a woman out there on the field?
Men are people too. they hurt. have mothers. no one likes to be disrespected.

2nd: if u read the mediotiempo article, u read this:

"no me di cuenta que era una mujer la que estaba marcando, no soy tan mal educado como para faltarle el respeto a una señorita"

okay, we agree that shouldnt matter? shes a PROFESSIONAL, who needs the same respect as any other person doing that job... and calling her "una señorita" that should be another 2 games right there.

conclusion:
this guy sucks.
she was right on that call too.
and men have feelings...

First of all the song is crap, but I'm tired of La Academia. I don't know who sings it but I can almost guarantee its one of those tools on la nacademia.
