Arrow Chivas vs Toluca (Clausura 2007, Week 1)

Telefutura
Chivas vs. Toluca - 8 PM ET / 7 PM CT / 5 PM PT

Chiva hermanas and Chiva hermanos, Clausura 2007 is around the corner! I am excited and hopeful that our team will defend their crown with good football, discipline, and honor. Guadalajara only lost one game at home in Apertura 2006. I hope that Chivas defends the Jalisco in this tournament with the same success or better. We want another championship this season! Vamos Rebano! Vamos Campeon! Derrota a Toluca!

Possible lineup:

-------------------Michel------------------
-Diego--Magallon--Reynoso--Maza--Moncho-
-----------Sol*-------------Pineda---------
------------------Bautista-----------------
-----------Medina-----------Bravo---------

*With the absence of Araujo, I want Sol to return to the defensive midfield. I hope I do not see Santana in that postion.

Awesome. What a great way to start the defense of the title. I hope Sol starts as well. That way Santana can still come in as a sub in the attack when needed.

La Opinion "reported" that Chivas USA might get Sol, but 1-it's La Opinion, 2-I haven't seen it anywhere else, and 3-the chivas need him this season. Maybe he'll join Chivas USA after May, since Chepo doesn't seem to like him as a player.

ps- That red star is a great reminder that they are the defending champs.

I heard Manuel Sol had a horrible game against Queretaro this preseason...I really doubt he'll start against Toluca...

Did you see the lineups for that game at all? I am curious to see who played how many minutes.

Not just Sol, the whole team played like crap. They better come back from the Bahamas, for this one.

I agree that we need Sol due to the intense activity that our team will have this season. Another option for the defensive midfiled is Magallon. Chepo can move Magallon on the right dm position and place Antonio Patlan in the central defense. However, I have enjoyed very much Magallon's performance in the central defense so I hope Sol remains with the team.

I did not know the significance of the red star. Thank you for the interesting factoid. I wonder if the new jersey, which will be unveiled later this week, will have the red star on the emblem.

Saturday, i'll be in front of the television watching to see how they kick off the defense of their championship. Seeing as how nobody has left for Europe, i dont think im alone in thinking that Chivas can (should?) repeat as champions in the Clausura.

Man, for some reason i dont feel really ready to kick things off. oh wait the reason is our pre-season or lack there of... i hope the bahamas did some good and that the performance of gallos blancos will not repeat.

i expect a slow start, and now with this new balon and mediotiempo saying chivas doesnt like it we will have to adjust to that too

and the bicampeonato, well you know, nobody believes in us. just because of our change of goalie or whatever, but i sense a repeat.
