Default And people say US TV deals stink

- A league is about to blow up over TV rights (Scotland)
- A league may have its season delayed due to TV issues (Serie A)
- A country may have to PPV many if not all of its national team's games (Ireland)
- An entire league structure is threatened by failed TV deals (Nationwide)

Things could be worse. They could easily be worse.

10 clubs have resigned from the SPL as of today but it isnt over TV rights, there is a 12 million deal with the BBC in place, its over the voting structure of the league as a whole.

I stand corrected. But the earlier battle over TV rights couldn't have helped the relationships between the Old Firm and the other 10.

When someone wants to buy the rights to televise youre league without having the world cup tacked onto the deal come back and talk.

Im undecided on that, the way the other 10 wanted to go would have been a disaster in my eyes, 1 look at ITV digital proves that, so the old firm's stubborn stance may have worked in the leagues favour as far as the TV deal goes.

Regardless of who is right and who is wrong in Scotland, the US deal isn't causing public battles between clubs or investors or anything like that.

That's because there are, what, three total investors in the States? Saint Phil, Hunt, and whassisname, Kraft, as far as I can remember. (And the PDL teams don't count 'cause they're not part of the "deal" even if they are or are not part of SUM.) That's not enough people to have a game of spades, for chrissakes.

[not helping]
Serie A will be fine. Fox Sports wants to televise their games and it will be so much better.

Whhhhaaaat? What PDL teams in what? There aren't any PDL teams as a part of SUM, unless you count the flimsily-related "Reserve" teams that the Fire and Rapids have.
