Is Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum still the International Life Vice President for Chelsea?

Does anyone know how this occurred and how long he has had that position?
Will he still have this position if his nephew takes over Liverpool via DIC?

Any clued up Chelsea fans here who can shed any light on this?

IIRC he was invloved around the time that the Chelsea Village reared its ugly head. Clan will probably be able to shed more light as we both theorized that Lord Bates had several "silent partners" behind his funding of both the club and the Village.

Not sure as to his current involvement and how that will shape out if his nephew becomes involved with the Pool.

Bates had several 'shady' dealings going on with offshore business owners.
He was in trouble with the FBI, or at least was under questioning as to his involvement with certain (I shall leave the names out) people that had a bank fraud scheme going on in the states. One that can be named, is tollman...who I believe is still at large and actively wanted by said FBI.

There were also people in the isles that were under investigation
One financial management company in particular, owned by Patrick Murrin, was of particular interest.

One of the things that Bates was very careful of though, was to make sure that all of these off shore holding companies actually held less than %3 of Chelsea Village shares, which meant that they didn't have to be revealed to AIM, thus, nothing was actually known (read proved) about them and their dealings with Chelsea Village.

It was also long rumoured that he has an investor from the middle east, but nothing was known for sure, as no information - that could be proved correct - was available at the time.

I didn't even know we had that position or that title for anyone to have!

Didn't know the name, never came across it and nothing could be proven - where did you get that name and info?

Is this something that has recently come to life because of the takeover attempt at Liverpool, a little sidebar to a conversation about something else.

Many people would have liked that information during the 90s.

    Well I'll be....

    So it is.

Somebody must have been looking us up on the 'net, came across it and posed the question.

Amazing what you'll find on the net eh?

Then again, when talking about Chelseas history, I never feel the need to have to look it up on the 'net ;)

I saw it mentioned on another football forum that is was on wiki and so it is. Yet I was surpised as I had not heard of his involvement at Chelsea before then.

He is the head of Emirates Airlines so possibly the sponsorship deal they had with the Blues has some connection. As far as I am aware Roman is the sole owner currently so not sure what Al Maktoums position at Chelsea entails.
