With the transfer window only 2 weeks away what does Reading need to stay in the top half of the table and make a run at Europe? Do we need a striker or are we gonna be OK once Kits get back? Do we need better attacking mids? Defensive Mids? Defenders in general? I think we are fine at Goalie and I don't see anyone that would be an upgrade to Marcus anyway, but what if he goes down? Are the backups good enough?

I think we'll be okay at striker once Kitson gets back. Still wouldn't mind bringing one in on loan incase, but we'll see what happens. Seol hasn't done much lately, other than that headed goal against..Charlton? Probably needs to move back to the wing.

A new central midfielder would make me happy, because even when Harper scores we lose. Fae and Mensah will work for me..maybe a couple of other cheaper guys, if we can, too.

Reading is the only club in the top half of the table with a negative goal differential (-3). They've allowed 23 goals, but the backline and keeper are not entirely to blame.

A decent defensive midfielder should help, but the return of Convey's runs and more importantly, crosses (hopefully to a healthy Kitson and Doyle) would be just what the doctor ordered.

I think we need upgrades in a couple places. but, with sidwell not re-signing, we really do need another mid, and an attacking one would be good.

http://www.readingfc.premiumtv.co.uk...944692,00.html In related news, Kitson is doing well in recovery. He is 2 weeks into a 4 week prescribed recovery from his appendix surgery. So it looks like we'll be picking up a striker in transfer window after all. That is sort of a tounge in cheek comment, but seriously, he has missed to whole first half of the season. It will be like we picked up a striker from a CCC club, except for that he is use to playing with these guys. Also, His mates are already getting settled into the pace of the premiership, where for him it will be a new experience still. It will be interesting to see how he does comming back.

What Reading needs is to be able to convert on some of their corners.

I know it is not an immediate concern, but do you think a backup GK should be bought in case MH gets injured, or is Federici good enough to do that?

There was talk of getting the American guy from Hull a while ago...don't remember his name now. Seemed like crap, to be honest, and I haven't heard about it since. It would be nice to get a young backup keeper who could eventually take the starting job.

Not sure it's time to give up on Stack yet, who's only on loan. I do think that if marcus went down with only federici on the roster, it might be a problem.
