This discussion was already started at the BVB General Discussion thread.

I posted an article about the Hitzfeld offer in English there too.

Do you guys think the coaching search deserves it's own thread?

I don't. Only because there hasn't been that much discussion here recently.......

All right. Let's have the discussion here.

Now that Hitzfeld has said "no", that just puts us back to where we were.

I still believe BvM has to go. However, my #1 "wish candidate" is not Thomas von Heesen.

Mine is Huub Stevens.

It was right. BvM is history. I just got a short article from BVB to translate for the English page.

That is one of the possible scenarios 'kicker' was throwing around today, but they also mentioned that BVB leadership does not want to put Herrlich in that role.

It will either be an interim coach with a "name" (Possibly Juergen Kohler) or they will find a way to get either Huub Stevens or Thomas von Heesen in during the winterbreak.

But I think BVB management finally got something right today. I don't feel he is totally at fault for what's happening, but Bert van Marwijk had to go.

Too many players on the team just seemingly refused to play hard for him.

i dont think Thomas von Heesen will leave armenia during the winterbreak and Huub Stevens contract with his club Roda finish at the end of season (http://www.eurosport.com/football/bu...o1032882.shtml) Thomas von Heesen possibly will come at end of season>

so bvb coach of next month will be not very experience coach unless one of the bundesliga clubs sack it coach (tomas doll or jurgen klopp), then bvb will have more choices in winterbreak.

when schuster will return to germany?? he is very good coach and can do well with borussia dortmund. i think Michael Zorc should ask this man if it possible coming to bvb.

dortumnd players with new coach can do alot and this what i want to see sooon.

Dude, that story is more than a few days old. You can't base an informed opinion on that.

Also, that story does not mention that Bielefeld have stated that they want some kind of answer from von Heesen about his future. Some of their players want to know before they decide if they are going to stay in Bielefeld or not.

Bielefeld may be the ones to force the issue.

Today's "kicker" says that von Heesen is not in Bielefeld today and tomorrow, but will return on Wednesday and the club will ask him about his future plans.

I don't think Schuster is coming back to Germany. He loves his life in Spain and his coaching style is more suited to the game there. His last coaching job in Germany was a failure at 1. FC Koln in the 2. Liga.

I believe it was 1999.

Schuster is not the man for BVB.

I think they would go for Jurgen Kohler first. If you are going to settle for a man with a spotty coaching record in German football, at least go for one who is a legend at your own club.

If you think our problems will be solved by just bringing in a new coach, you've got another thing coming.

We need some player upgrades too.
