Default Brentford - QPR [R]

Brentford 1 QPR 2.

i've rarely heard men go as nuts as the radio commentators went, on the winning injury time goal, and on through several minutes after the final whistle!
QPR supporters went mad, apparently; would LOVE to have been there.
sounds like bircham's winner was a cracker; can't wait to see the replay.

Another excellent result!

So, now things stand like this (with everyone having played 43):

2. Crewe 81
---
3. Cardiff 79
4. Oldham 78
5. Bristol City 77
6. QPR 76
---
7. Tranmere 71

Auto-promotion is pretty much out of reach, but we could definitely still finish anywhere from 3-6.

Come on you R's!!

had to work, missed it but sounds like it was incredible. I sorta hope things end the way they are now, and we get Cardiff first in the playoffs.

Heh.. all my English and Welsh relatives live in Bristol and Cardiff (actually some are in Halifax). Oh the irony.

Good to see them hitting their stride right now.

Is there any real advantage to finishing 3rd or 4th as compared to 5th or 6th? Its not like home field advantage is at stake.

And who would we rather see first Oldham, Bristol City or Cardiff? And why?

I can see the advantage of playing Cardiff first in that we'd get them home-and-away, rather than possibily facing them in a single final at Cardiff.

Here are our results against the relevant teams thus far:

Crewe 2-0 QPR (October)
QPR ?-? Crewe (April 26th)

QPR 0-4 Cardiff (November)
Cardiff 1-2 QPR (April)

QPR 1-2 Oldham (October)
Oldham 0-0 QPR (March)

Bristol City 1-3 QPR (September)
QPR 0-0 Bristol City (October in LDV Vans - lost in penalties)
QPR 1-0 Bristol City (March)

Overall, our best results have been against Bristol City. But we've had fair-to-good results against them all the second time around (defeated Bristol City & Cardiff, a road draw with Oldham, with the final Crewe meeting still to come).

IMO Cardiff, for the reasons above.

I'd wager a fair amount that none of these sides wants to meet QPR in the playoffs at the moment.
