Re: [R] FIFA World Club Championship America Vs. Barcelona
As posted on the different threads on the quarter final game, America was not at all dominant, in fact was on their heels in the 2nd half, and did not put on a good show. We know what they could do, but watching how they coughed up the ball easily, failed to dominate the middle, and especially were weak defending on the wings, makes me optimistic about the game. I think both Ronnie and Ludo can hurt them down the sides, and would even opt for Sylvinho at left back in this match as I think that will really kill them, their right back was quite poor.
I also thought they were weak in the air, that their keeper in fact was quite unsure on the high balls, though good down low.
America only showed a bit of speed and decent attacking down the wings as well, and when Claudio Lopez is the real threat up the middle you know that you are not facing the toughest striking around.
Still, I am nervous already, as I really want to win this one and going all the way to Japan to not take back the trophy will be a big failure, this is a critical tournament for us as in two matches we can claim the only crown missing in our history.
I expect us to dominate, but we have to come in very concentrated as where America can do well is in controlling a game if they get up a goal

Re: [R] FIFA World Club Championship America Vs. Barcelona
As anyone else wondering when the Internacional guy is going to come back to our boards again????
All match long (during the Redbulls match) he sat about 10 rows behind me cursing at Ronaldinho.....alcohol meets idiocy and the result is this:

Did anyone see Barca play Club America on their U.S. tour? How were they then? Isn't that the game we went down 4 goals, and then tied it up in the last five minutes?
Check out Ronaldinho with the samurai headband. Is that how you write Nike in Japanese?

That was an unbelievable game were both teams really played out . America was up 4 to 1 then Barca came back and tied it up in the 2nd half. That was the last pre-season game of Barca and the best game so far of the pre-season.

It was a fun game. America brought their "A" game, Texas has a lot of Americanistas, so the crowd was mixed and loud. Piojo and Cuevas played well together. And America has Mexico's 2nd best (but catching up) keeper.
But, Barca was playing out of form and subbed a ton. America didn't relent though & forced them to take it seriously.
However, America started really well in the Apertura, but dropped off bit by bit during this season. They didn't look good during their semi-final games, just kinda fell apart and their strikers are less lethal than they were.
I'm predicting a very different result this time.
