Match Preview from UEFA.com. With all of their injuries, expect a starting 11 spot for Benny:

CSKA Hoping For A Happy Ending

Quote:
PFC CSKA Moskva know victory over struggling Hamburger SV is paramount if they are to reach the knockout stage for the first time, but are aware they will still be eliminated from the UEFA Champions League if Arsenal FC and FC Porto draw the other Group G fixture on Wednesday.
and the following:

More from UEFA.com

Quote:
All that remains for Hamburger SV as their second UEFA Champions League campaign limps towards a conclusion is to try and gain their first points in Group G. They were assured of finishing in last place after Matchday 4 so the real significance of this game lies in whether PFC CSKA Moskva can overcome recent disappointment and secure the victory which could book them a first-ever qualifying place.

For some strange reason, this match is not on TV here, live or delayed.

From the Soccer Daily:

"More Champions League: Porto - Arsenal live at 2pm on Setanta, Manchester United - Benfica on ESPN2 at 2:30pm, and Dynamo - Real at the same time on Deportes for the live slots. Porto - Arsenal is also delayed at 5pm on ESPN Classic, with Dynamo - Real on Setanta also at 5pm, and Milan - Lille at 7pm on Setanta.

The EPL is active for yet another day, with Reading - Newcastle live on Fox Soccer at 2:30pm and West Ham - Wigan same day on Setanta at 8:30pm. Enjoy. All Times Eastern"

Maybe because it's a crappy match that doesn't matter with everyone expecting Arsenal and Porto to play to a 0-0 draw.

It matters to me. Doesn't that count for something?

Also, I'm predicticting a 3-2 scoreline in the Porto-Arsenal match, after an 'accidental' first goal gets misinterpreted and both teams take the gloves off in the second half. If you understand Portuguese, you'll hear Porto's fans chanting, "We had a deal, we had a deal ..."

So maybe Porto-Arsenal will be a more exciting match after all.

Damn, can't seem to locate a stream of any kind, and I sure as hell don't feel like spending the money or effort to go watch it at a Premiere bar alone. I guess it's available for 6 Eur directly from uefa.com video, but I'll just watch it over the weekend with my VoD account.

It's still nice to see an American starting in the CL, even if it's partially due to injuries. Hopefully Hamburg will be able to pull something out of this one so the campaign wasn't a total failure.

"With his forwards short on goals, Doll could give 21-year-old Albanian striker Besart Berisha a first start in the tournament.

Probable teams
Hamburg: Stefan Wächter; Mehdi Mahdavikia, Bastian Reinhardt, Joris Mathijsen, Collin Benjamin; David Jarolím, Benny Feilhaber, Rafael van der Vaart, Piotr Trochowski; Besart Berisha, José Paolo Guerrero.

CSKA: Igor Akinfeev; Vasili Berezutskiy, Deividas Šemberas, Aleksei Berezutskiy; Miloš Krasić, Ivan Taranov, Dudu, Evgeni Aldonin, Yuri Zhirkov, Ivica Olić; Daniel Carvalho."

Dudu doesn't sound like a Russian name.

Feilhaber is not starting.

Knowing Hamburg, someone will break their leg, and he'll be on the field by halftime..
