Reading @ Newcastle - 12/6/06 - Pre/During/Post Match [R]
On FSC. Little will be back, apparently, but Oster will start as a bit of a reward for his performance Saturday. Mid-day fixture for those of us in the US, so I doubt many will be able to see it live. I doubt I'll be able to see it at all, unless I get creative. Anyway...come on Reading!

Re: Reading @ Newcastle - 12/6/06 - Pre/During/Post Match [R]
latest news from the BBC, seems the Toons are having injury trouble, not that Reading is free of injuries.......Convey, Kitson, Little etc, and did you guys know Hunt played with a broken rib against Bolton? and is going to probably play against Newcastle?

Midfielder Stephen Hunt is expected to feature for Reading despite the pain from two cracked ribs.

Newcastle manager John Roeder:
"None of us at the club have ever been involved in an injury-hit squad as bad as this.
"Honestly, most managers when they talk about bare bones, they are talking about being down to the last 16.
"I have not said anything yet and we are basically down to 10 senior players. The team picks itself for the match against Reading."
Reading manager Steve Coppell:
"A week is a long time in the Premiership and if we lose the next two games then I don't think anybody will be talking about Europe next week.
"Every week we have got to try to prove ourselves as being capable of competing in this league.
"We are doing ok, but we could easily have a slide for a multitude of reasons in terms of results."

I thought Convey was 2 weeks away after surgery and Kitson was close to returning has the status changed over the last few days.

My plans to watch the game just vanished, as someone decided to throw a party in my honor in Ankara tonight. I'm trying to figure if a one hour appearance is enough, so I can catch the second half.

Reading 2 Newcastle 1 half time
Harper (39, 42)
Sieberski (22)
Hunt of for Little seems like the rib is bothering him.

Re: Reading @ Newcastle - 12/6/06 - Pre/During/Post Match [R]
i went home to eat lunch and watch the first half. reading have dominated in terms of possession--something like 80-20 and the newcastle fans were letting them hear it too, especially after harper's 2nd. however, newcastle were unlucky to not be up or level themselves based on the defense and sonko's performance in particular. sometimes he is just lights out, and others its is there a light on? his man-marking/ball-watching has got to stop. he just loses focus and murty and marcus are left hanging in the wind. that aside, if reading can keep playing their game, this could be a great road win.
