Default Open Cup info quest

I'm in the process of revamping the usopencup.com history section, and I'm trying to confirm a few things. Here are the more difficult items:

1995 Open Cup

(Round 1) Is "Maryland Spartans" their OFFICIAL name? I've seen "Maryland (Fairfax) Spartans" ...I've seen "Fairfax Spartans".... are those different clubs?

(Round 1) DATE and SITE (City & Stadium name) for the New York Centaurs vs. Connecticut Wolves game (NY won 3-0)

(Round 1) DATE and SITE (City & Stadium name) for the Atlanta Ruckus vs. Tampa Bay Cyclones game (ATL won 4-2)

1996 Open Cup

(Round 1) DATE and SITE (City & Stadium name) for Fort Myers Manatees vs. St. Petersburg Kickers (Ft. Myers won 6-0)

(Round 1) DATE and SITE (City & Stadium name) for San Jose Oaks vs. California Jaguars (SJ won 3-2)

(Round 2) SITE (City & Stadium name) of the San Jose Oaks vs. Seattle Sounders game (SEA won 1-0)

Does anyone have any contacts or suggestions of where I could go to confirm this information. I'm trying to find it on my own before I start bugging US Soccer.

Olujosh,

Your scores are correct for those Open Cup games for the SJ Oaks.

I played for the Oaks that season.

I hope that helps.

Cheers!

Do you know where that game was played (who hosted...name of the stadium etc.) ?? Do you know anyone who might have records from the San Jose Oaks' Open Cup games?

This is as good a place as any to post this-- wanted to let you and chn71 know that this page about 2003 qualifying has accidentally put the 2002 table down for the D3 Pro Select League:

http://lhusoc.tripod.com/history/2003/2003q.htm

I think the scores under the table are basically correct, and it's correct that Long Island automatically qualified as the 2002 PSL champion, but the table is the 2002 qualifying table, not the 2003 qualifying table.

That's actually chn71's old website....I'll pass that along to him. Thanks.

Yes, and it's the page one gets linked to from usopencup.com when clicking on the link for 2003 qualification information. So it's the only page I know of that presents any kind of 2003 qualification information.

HERE IS AN UPDATE....thanks to some of you for helping me track down some of this information. Here's what I have left:

1995 Open Cup

(Round 1) Is "Maryland Spartans" their OFFICIAL name? I've seen "Maryland (Fairfax) Spartans" ...I've seen "Fairfax Spartans".... are those different clubs?

(Round 1) DATE of the New York Centaurs vs. Connecticut Wolves game (NY won 3-0)

(Round 1) DATE of the Colorado Foxes game vs. Flamengo SC (Flamengo SC hosted)

(Round 1) DATE AND STADIUM for the AAC Eagles vs. Chicago Stingers game (Chicago hosted and won 2-1)

(Round 1) DATE of the Chico Rooks vs. San Fernando Valley Golden Eagles (Chico hosted and won 2-0)

(Round 1) DATE AND STADIUM for the El Paso Patriots vs. St. Petersburg Kickers (El Paso hosted and won 5-2)

(Round 2) DATE AND STADIUM for the Chicago Stingers vs. New York Centaurs (Chicago hosted and won 1-0)

(Round 2) DATE AND STADIUM (in Colorado Springs, CO) for Colorado Foxes vs. El Paso Patriots (Colorado hosted and lost 2-0)

(SEMIFINAL) Did the Richmond Kickers/Chicago Stingers game (that Richmond won 4-3) go into overtime or not??

1996 Open Cup

(Round 1) DATE and STADIUM NAME for Fort Myers Manatees vs. St. Petersburg Kickers (Ft. Myers hosted and won 6-0...I have June 30th as the date?)

(Round 1) DATE and SITE (City & Stadium name) for San Jose Oaks vs. California Jaguars (SJ won 3-2)...not sure who hosted the game...I have June 28th as the date?

(Round 1) DATE (Maybe July 3rd?), STADIUM, WHO HOSTED Carolina Dynamo vs. Mo's Sport Shop?? (Carolina won 5-0)

(Round 1) Was the El Paso Patriots vs. RWB Adria match played on July 4th, 1996??

(Round 2) NAME OF THE STADIUM where the Carolina Dynamo played the New York Fever (New York hosted) -- I have July 30, 1996 as the date. It MAY have been Westchester Community College.

Does anyone have any contacts or suggestions of where I could go to confirm this information (other than US Soccer, obviously).

Any information, match reports, pictures, or anything would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Bulldog.....here's an Oaks question for ya....

Did the game vs. the California Jaguars in the 1st round go into overtime?

I'm also still looking for who hosted that game and what stadium the game was played at.

I actually was able to get in touch with a player from the Stingers that year and found out all the info except for the date of the match. He's working on that...

I'm going to start a new thread with an update of the info I have left....not that much left to go.

Thanks for the links!
