Default Clint Dempsey Transfer

Excerpt from a soccer365.com article today on Clint Dempsey's availability for the MLS Cup:

"Since Dempsey’s World Cup heroics in Germany this summer, he has gained a host of European admirers, and while he would not be specific as to his next club he did reveal Reading and Fulham could be likely destinations."

It will be inetresting to see where Dempsey ends up. Hopefully it is somewhere where he will be able to continue to develop and get significant playing time. He has a ton of potential and there have been moments where we have seen this. I just hope he ends up with a team that he fits in with and that he sees plenty of time on the field.

I wouldn't mind him ending up with us at all. Should be a good bench player for the rest of this year, then would probably start if Sidwell leaves. I guess it could be Dempsey and Faé in central midfield next season.

I have mixed feelings about this. It'd be fun to see Clint with Reading, but I think we have a decent amount of options in midfield already. We really need to focus on getting a target striker.
