I think it's a good thing that BVB are back in action at home again so quickly. Most were disappointed with the Bielefeld result. I watched the match and was not.

Bielefeld played the most disciplined; nearly mistake-free football I'd seen since Hannover did it to us in the second half of that Bundesliga draw.

Only Bielefeld played that way the entire match. Despite that, at least in the first half, it was the best BVB home performance of the season. I thought the team would put their heads downand resign themselves to defeat after that stupid Bielefeld goal, but they did not.

They put their heads down and fought back. Not well at all times, but they did not give up. It just ticks me off that they have to be behind before we actually see them battle the hardest.


On the Aachen front, Aachen are coming in on a downward spiral that's even seen coach Michael Frontzeck give top striker Jan Schlaudraff three days "off" to "think about things."

Apparently, Schlaudraff has let his selection to the German National Team go to his head and seemingly believes he's better than the rest of his teammates.

In my opinion, that was a great move by Frontzeck. Not only to show his team that one man is not above them all, but to show a kid with an ego problem who is truly the boss.

Usually, I'd see a team with such internal problems and think "Three points in the bag."

However, the past two years, teams have been coming to Westfalenstadion to cure what ails them.

This will be another battle. I think Aachen will come to fight as it has been shown that BVB just does not handle fighting teams well.

But, I also think we finally get three points. If we don't...........

Well, I don't want to say exactly what I'll do if we don't.

You apparently didn't see the match.

We f#cking dominated.

We also just had the worst luck I've ever seen in front of the net. It was like Arsenal last week in the CL against CSKA. Total domination, all the shots they could put up, but just could not put one in.

Save the freakin' dramatics. This team is on the right track.

I don't know what to say. The team F*CKING DOMINATED the match.

I don't think we played as well as we did against Bielefeld and there were scenes where the fans deservedly whistled the team (Stupid passes, lazy giveaways), but overall, we F#CKING DOMINATED the match.

We gave up a few good chances, but we had the kind of luck Arsenal had last week in the CL against CSKA.

All the chances in the world, but just could not put one in!!!

I thought we got denied a clear penalty for a foul against Amoah in the area near the end, but that was irrelevant.

We had so many chances.......

MAN! I'm just f#cking flabbergasted!!!

I usually don't believe in jinxes, but damn, I'm really starting to believe we have a home jinx.

I don't know that I've ever seen one team f#cking dominate a match so much and come out with a goalless draw like I saw with Arsenal last week and BVB last night.

Usually when a team dominates like that and can't score, they find a way to lose.

We almost found a way to lose, but Aachen's Fiel completely whiffed on a shot when he was all alone in front of Weidenfeller.


Man. Part of me wants to be angry, but goddamnit, we dominated that match from whistle to whistle!

Aachen had a few good scenes, but overall, we were in total f#cking control!!!

I watched the interview with BvM after the match. He was more flabbergasted than I am. The man was almost babbling. I'm certain he'd never seen anything like that in his life.

One shot Valdez put toward an open net, I still can't figure out how any Aachen player got a foot to it to put it over the goal.

Now I know what Man U. fans must have felt like after we stole that CL Semi-Final match from them in Manchester in 1997 after they totally dominated us.

I still don't know how we didn't win that match last night. We did everything but put the ball in the back of the net. And on a couple of shots, I don't know how the ball stayed out.

It was f#cking amazing.........

Degen (thigh injury) was replaced by Sahin in 23rd minute, moving Kringe to right back. Sahin gave the team a bit of an offensive spark, but again, we just could not put the ball in.

One thing that did make me feel good about last night's match:

Tinga is starting to try to push some of his teammates along. He was imploring them to come forward and attack more last night.

Maybe he will develop into that leader we need........

Also, we really need some offensive midfield help. At striker, I think Frei and Valdez will eventually start to score. They show the qualities.

But our offensive (playmaking) midfield is f#cking non-existent.

If managment does not think Pienaar and Sahin can do the job, then I really believe we need to try to address this problem during the winter break. The problem is that bad.

We need help in that area so badly, I'd almost accept Andy Moeller coming out of retirement and putting on the #10 again!

In closing, all I know is I've never seen a BVB team f#cking dominate a match that much and only come out with one point.

No Sh1t!!! I was thinking the same thing the other day and how much I miss having him in Dortmund!!! Your post read my mind, dude! I miss watching bundesliga. I miss watching Dortmund! I move to the US from Galapagos(after the latin version of fox sports americas did away with it a few years back) and FSC gives it up the same season I get here...

I know results count more than performance, but it is good to see that despite the goal-less draw Aachen was on the back foot all game long. I know this squad are not Bremen, Bayern or even HSV, but it would've stung a lot more if Dortmund played horribly and squeaked out a draw.

I'd be overjoyed if Tinga could evolve into that field general. God knows Dortmund needs SOMEbody in that capacity! As far as creativity coming from the midfield is concerned, I'm stumped. Pienaar was brought in as a replacement for Rosicky, but did anyone really believe he'd step right in and pick up where Rosicky left off? I know I wasn't expecting that and if Kringe, Sahin, Tinga and Kruska can't create any sparks (I know half of the listed guys are defensive minded) then will we start looking within the starting line-up for a creative spark? I know the only one I've seen of late that has any level of creativity and adventure is Dede. But plopping him in mid-field alongside Tinga I'm not sure how that would work if at all.

It will be interesting what tactic BvM employs as this is definitely a worry spot...

After the way he played against Aachen and with Degen's thigh injury, Sahin will get a chance to spark the midfield.....
