Copa Panamericana put off until 2003

Uh, did not read the post. Could someone transalate.
Just a idea for the Copa Panamerica, let the TFC Champions Cup(TFCCC) Winners have a spot. It will give the TFCCC a little more meaning(not much).

Wouldn't matter, since there would be plenty of CONCACAF teams in it already.

Can't blame Warner for this one it was all Conmebol. I visit the Concacaf website regularly and have never heard anything about the tournamenet starting in '02 all that has strictly come from our 'brother' Confederation.
Starting a new competition in a World Cup year is not a good idea anyway. There are still players coming off their holidays and because the month of June was closed down Conmebol have yet to crown the Libertadores champion and now they want to start up a new tournament in August. Talk about match congestion .
As far as the FC was concerned this tournament was going to happen in '03 at the earliest and they're still working out the details. I was hoping to hear something from the FC after the W/C was over but so far not a peep. They're scheduled to meet again later in the year (November, if I remember correctly) and than we should hear all the details such as the format (home/away or group play), how teams will qualify and wheather or not they'll divide the participants into Northern and Southern groups ala Merconorte/sur or mix them up so that Brazilian teams can play up North. The big question for me though is wheather or not it'll be televised because I can't afford to fly up and down the Americas to support my favourites teams; I'll need a google box to do that.

Aren't we overrating this tourney a bit? Isn't it a souped up version of the Merconorte & Mercosur? I've understood that it will be for the "next best" clubs in each country. For instance, no Boca, River, Flamengo, etc., because presumably they'll qualify for the Libertadores. If the top 4 MLS teams go to the FC Champions Cup, then I guess the Pan American's a good gig for the 5th & 6th place teams to compete. But they won't be facing the best clubs of S.A. Good clubs, but not the elite. And Mexico will have nearly half their league involved with the Libertadores, Champions Cup & Pan American.

Nobody has announced how they are going to pick the clubs. The 2 Colombian teams that were going to play were picked out of a bag. This tourney is really set up to get the Mexican TV money.
