Carlos Machado's pronunciation on FSW Report
If Carlos Machado mispronounces "Maracana Stadium" one more time, I am going to SCREAM!!!! It is supposed to be pronounced "Ma-ra-ca-NAH". But instead, he pronounces it "Mara-CANNAH". For crying out loud, can't we be a little more PROFESSIONAL here?!!! I also think that it is he who pronounces "Morelia" with a long "e" instead of a short "e" like it should be pronounced (i.e. "Mo-REE-lee-yah" instead of "Mo-REH-lee-ya"). If the show is purporting to be the ultimate source for international sports, then they should darn well get the pronunciations correct, and also show the correct graphics in the background (i.e. when they show highlights of a game of a Brazilian team called "America", they should not show the logo of Mexican team Club America!!!!
Also, I hope that they can get some other footage of other sports and interviews elsewhere (e.g. Aussie Rules, Aussie Rugby League, J-League soccer, Japanese baseball, etc.) so that they don't have to repeat the same news twice in the same show. That's my opinion. What's yours?

Please.... lets not go here again...
Its a canadian production.. so they are not going
to get every pronounciation correctly... they make
every effort... i rather they miss a couple rather
than the wild over pronounciations of Bretos and
Hopkins....even english players..
Aussie football is back on FSW...watch the games
J-League is highlighted on the well produced
Asian sports show... you can see plenty of other
sports on the show World Sport.

it means Canadians speak Canadanian...
cut them some slack...
Bretos... cannot prounciate english names correctly so why do you have to dwell on the canadians????????????? if i hear Craig Burley in his calendonian tone once more... ill scream...
just be an ***************n announcer ... and call the game and forget about trying to be politcally corrrect to rabble that email in when then call a chinese name incorrectly.... let it go...
ESPN still have the best team in International Football..... JP and tommy or tommy rae...... the best in the business.....
bretos and hopkins.... do all the mls as you can.. and leaave the real leagues to the home announcers.......

I just think Machado stumbles too much.
And some of his pronunciations seem uncacceptable to me. Like Arsene Wenger: Arsennie??? Come on! I can understand getting some names wrong if you haven't come across them before... but that's not an excuse here...

I just finished watching the Fox Sports Report on Fox Sports World and one of the shows host (who's name I believe is Carlos Machado) introduced MLS as:
Major....(pause)...Soccer..League
The second time around after showing some highlights of the matches played this weekend he got the name right.
On the brighter side, I was just happy that they were covering the league.

What do you expect from a guy that doesn't even pronounce his own name correctly

Oh, yeah, he's clearly terrible.
I was just trying to make the point that the reason he's terrible isn't that he's Canadian - it's just that he's not any good.
Being Canadian has very little to do with it.

every nationalility will pronounciate their announciations differently....just because it doesnt agree with your official pronounciation does not mean that it is wrong... they are canadian... give them a break...you say tomato.....i say tomaato
get over it...
just be glad you get the highlights we get.. its the best world sports highlights show there is...

Guys..... relax, jesus! Some of you people complaining about the smallest things.
Watch the Bundesliga Review show tomorrow at 2 and then Manchester Utd destroy Arsenal at 3 and chill. Enjoy the channel and enjoy the sport and stop the complaining.
