What would you fellow Blues fans think about taking a run at Dempsey when he finally does escape the clutches of MLS?

His game, style of play, and tough-as-nails mindset would fit in well with this squad, IMO.

It would be interesting. With this team he would have to play more defense than he does with New England, but I think when he first came into MLS he did do that. I'm not sure if the club is interested at all, I think the only two teams I've heard about him going to possibly are West Ham and Charlton, but I'd think West Ham would be unlikely now.

I think he'd need a while to break in no matter where in landed in the prem. If Reading are sitting on 25-35( ) points in early January and survival looks likely, I'd think he might make an attractive target, potential replacement for Sids, who I really would love to have a change of heart. But if he signed this spring, I wouldn't expect him to play much this spring. He really would need to learn coppell's system, and it would be tough to work him (anyone) in during a survival run.
Maybe I'm wrong, and he's an overwhelming talent, but I think that while he'd be a good addition, he wouldn't top the talent list. There are MLS players who quickly make the jump from the season that doesn't matter to a season of life and death.
