Yeah I already saw it....very impressive, it actually appears that after he beat the defender he flicked the ball up to show the skill.

Actually, that's the beautiful thing about this play - he doesn;t juggle the ball to show off, he does it to move forward. The ball was slightly behind him after he got past the defender, so he chose to flick it up and over himself.

It didn't land right in front of him, instead it came right to his shoulder, so he just pushed it forward and kept moving. It's not a perfect juggling display, what it is though is a display of skill applied towards moving the ball forward. Players who can do that are special.

You can say I told you so, when he does this consistantly for more than one season.

But how can anyone really say I told you say after 100 minutes of football? Not even half a season. Even John Oshea has had a good 100 minutes of football. When he proves himself consistantly with his club, then maybe, but its a bit premature.

Ill be happy if or when he fufils his potential, but come on...

I agree with you. He needs to show that he can continue what he has done over the course of a season. I was just referring to the fact that SS said WCC, basically saying that it is a major competition. I knew a European fan would probably come in and start up the whole issue about "Europe not caring about the WCC, etc" so I said what I did...

I admire your faith in this kid SS, I really do, but by God he played against my sh-itty Palmeiras and Al Ahly. Yes, it is a "high pressure" situation in the WCC given he is 17 years old and they do care about the competition a lot. But again ... Al Ahly, put it in perspective. And BTW, it wasn't a breathtaking spetacular performance against. He had the goal and the nifty shoulder thingie. It has really not proved anything yet.

    yes hes playing.

And he is 2 for 2....if he scores against mighty Barcelona then what will be the excuse for the nonbelievers???

This thread was created in September. There is a reason for that.

    Jesus Christ man, be patient.

If he scores against the mighty Barcelona, then good for him. Thats a major accomplishment especially for a 17 year old, but you've got to calm down. This kid has a long way to go regardless of what he does now.

Lord knows how many talented 17 years old bust onto the scence only to disappear.

sometime you just know...and do not need to wait 1 year to see. That may be the case with most players..but not the extremely talented. When Ronaldinho came around everyone knew he was special...same w Pato.

Helder scored 2 goals in his Flamengo debut against Sao Caetano and that was within 45 minutes. He came in as a substitute, but I won't declare him as the next best thing..

In Peru, a pato is a gay.

Not a troll, just some context of the words.

Nice thread. Read the whole 5 pages and understand that he takes the name of his city in his name. That alone is always cool until I try to do it whit the city I am from. :D
