Default I'm going on holiday

On friday morning.

Flying from Edinburgh to Toronto for a three week holiday, staying with my friend just outside. So excited that I can't sleep at night. I'm in a bad cycle at the moment, going to bed at my normal time and then not getting to sleep until 3 or 4 hrs later and then waking up at midday-1pm. Yesterday I got up at 3:45pm!!

I've done pretty much everything to get ready for the trip; got my canadian dollars, insurance, tickets, passport, hand luggage all packed, suitcase pretty much packed. So now it's like killing time until I go - so glad there is football every night until I go!!

Loads of things planned too.

Two days after I arrive, 17th, Spurs play Fulham at 10am (canadian time), so hopefully it'll be on TSN (or one game will..). I am going into Toronto to go shopping and then go to the WWE Unforgiven event at the Air Canada Centre. We're in the 4th row!!

Big matches that evening too; Trish Stratus (From Toronto) vs Lita, Trish's last match before retiring; the McMahon's + Big Show vs HHH and Shaun Michaels in the Hell in a Cell; then Edge (also from Toronto) vs John Cena in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Won't mean much to non-fans, but as we're so close to the action we're both well excited!

The Liverpool vs Spurs match on the 23rd is also likely to be on TSN, but at 8am because it's a midday UK game. So an early start there.

On the 24th I am going into Toronto with my aunt and uncle (who live in a place called Hamilton, nearby) to watch the Toronto Blue Jays vs Boston Red Sox. Been to 3 baseball games before, first one was also vs Boston - a long time ago now. I enjoy it, better in the stadium than on tv. Hoping the Blue Jays win

The 28th is my birthday (23), and also Spurs vs Slavia. Hopefully we'll find somewhere to watch it, but as long as I know the score i'll be able to cope. Not sure what we're doing in the evening but I imagine beers, vodka type stuff and either drunk chicks or naked chicks will play a role. www.thesundowner.com (not safe for work!) perhaps

I come back on the 5th October. Back to being unemployed and broke, but never mind.

No doubt i'll be taking some photos and posting them when I get back. Not sure i'll be able to get online much while away.

The days I haven't got anything to do I will be going to University with my friend, either sitting in the classes with him or sitting in the bar watching tv.

It's either go to Uni with him or sit indoors on my own because he's out til 3 or so and his girlfriend works 9-5 every day. So i'd rather go and use the accent to chat to canadian student girlies. Wouldn't you?

Sorry for the self-indulgent thread and all, but maybe you're interested and it certainly killed 20 mins of my day!!

well, if it features "hell in a cell" and "tables, ladders, and chairs" then it seems i am missing out on something!

now, i'm just guessing, but i suspect that in a "tables, ladders, and chairs match", this means that one might expect to see any combination of tables, ladders, and/or chairs inside the ring, and likely used as weapons and/or projectiles, correct?

Hell in a Cell is this massive steel cage structure on the outside of the ring, still have to win by the normal means but there is a big metal thing to play on first.

The Tables, Ladders and Chairs match will involve lots of weapons and a climbing frame for them to jump about on, or off, onto or through. Lots of noise and ooohs and aaaahs from the crowd

well, my hat's off to whoever thought that one up.

"hmmm. somehow, a standard bout of faux grappling just isn't enough any more. perhaps if we included a table and chairs ..."

"ooh! and a ladder!"

brilliant! and make sure to give trish a proper send off, danners!

fare thee well, miss stratus. we hardly knew ye.
