Vassell but no Beattie Lampard who has yet to do anything worthwhile in an England shirt, he was dire against Australia and should be nowhere near this squad.

Sven's turning into a ************ing joke. He makes the Australia 'friendly' a farce with mass substitutions yet decides that none of the youngsters are ready for a competetive game. I think he's starting to take the piss.

I dont like Mr Burns selection policy..
he seems to pick players and then dump them after 1 or 2 games without explanation..
bowyer ,greening ,beattie,ricketts,etc.....have all been involved and ditched after 1 call up.
Ricketts confidence was ruined after the holland game and he hasnt been the same player since.
He ditches potentially good players and sticks with wasters like lampard ,vassell, gary neville,etc..

I would like to see celtics Alan Thompson play on the left wing .I also reckon that phil neville is a much better player than gary neville..He gained his reputation as donkey playing as left-back. But he is decent player at right-back ,right midfield and even central midfield..

Tommo should have got a game for England yeaaaaaaars ago (like when he was at Bolton). I think Gary Neville's okay, the only other option at right back is Danny Mills and I'm not keen on him.

I totally agree with Phil Neville, he's a superb defensive midfielder and I'd have put him in before now.10 Lampards isn't worth 1 P. Neville.

No Beattie worries me, the Sven of old would have had him in the team and playing but not anymore. He should have at least had chance to play in the Liechtenstein game to get used to the rest of the England first team and perhaps also get a few goals under his belt.

Hey at least there's no Seaman

In the english press there has been no mention of Beattie's omission, I wondered if he had picked up an injury against Villa. But why leave him out? He's scored more in the league this season than Heskey, Vassel, Rooney and Jeffers combined. I don't understand the logic.
I rate G Neville highly and although Phil isn't as bad as is made out, he isn't as good as Butt in central midfield.

David James in goal scares me a lot more than Seaman in goal! And unfortunately Robbo is a bit young and inexperienced to get selected ahead of calamity james.

James makes any defence nervous...
I hope Richard wright gets a game.

As for vassell...
how many goals has he scored this year?? when was the last time he actually scored??
I reckon he has scored about 4 goals this year..

Lampard is in on the merits of his team performances for Chelsea where he has been a driving force all season.

Whether or not that means he is ahead of some other players who have been so-so is debatable.
Lampard is no defensive mid though and will be dire if forced to play there.

Vassel?
Can't find the thinking on that one at all.
Rooney?
For the hype.
Actually it belittles the awarding of a "cap" when he has just about half the caps of a player like Peter Osgood managed to get.

WTF, why is joey Cole not in the main squad, thats B.S. except he has played like total shite this season, even then he IS that one player we should have on the field or on the bench ready to unlock the stubborn liechtenstein back four when they are holding us to a 0-0 draw with 10 mins left in the match. why does sven do s.h.i.t like this, no beattie after one game, Lampard is not even on a par with jenas . oh well , i 'm going to mass to pray we wont be embarrased against the mighty liechtenstein and that the 3lions of the germany qualifier show up to play turkey. please GOD.
