Default Anyone watch the game on FSC? [R-maybe]

So I wait all summer for this match. Then I found out the game would be on FSC and got really excited. After avoiding all media source that may give the result, I sit down to enjoy the match. 15 minutes in FSC starts a ticker on the bottom of the screen and then I see it. FSC actually post the score of the match! THE MATCH THE ARE SHOWING!! Do they not want me to watch the game? Do they want me to watch all the games online and say screw them?

Needless to say I am mighty upset.

To avoid those tickers--now interrrupting BBC World News, CNN, ESPN2 and FSC, I cut out a strip of construction paper about 2 inches wide and tape it to either side of the TV.

I no longer see that crap.

Try it, you'll like it.

I will have to do that. I just can't understand the why they would give the result of a game they were airing for the first time. Thanks for the advice.

My feedback to Fox:

I've been a Reading FC fan ever since Marcus Hahnemann played his first game for the Royals. After 135 years they finally made it to the Prem and I thought it was fantastic that Fox decided to air their Prem debut.

Having waited so long for this moment, you can imagine my shock and anger at watching the final result appear across the bottom of the screen 15 minutes into the match.

Thank you so much for airing the match, and thank you soooooooo much for ruining it for me and the rest of the Reading FC fans.

Please feel free to share your opinions here:

Just sent a similar response to FSC myself. Thank you for providing the link.
I, too, would encourage everyone who has a moment to send a response.

copy of my feedback to FSC:

I first want to thank you for providing soccer coverage in the United States. I watch your channel daily and enjoy it a lot. I no longer have to watch streams of games over the internet, and for that I very grateful.

However, what happened on Saturday has left me very upset and disapointed. When I first found out that FSC would be showing the Reading match, even if it was on a three hour delay, I was extremely excited. I have been a fan of them for a while now, and could not wait for their first Premership match.

You can imagine my disapointment when 15 minutes into the match, the final score of the match was displayed on the ticker at the bottom of the screen. I could not believe it. Why would you display the score of game you are running for the first time? Do you want people to lose interest and not watch the rest of the game?

I understand the need to delay the showing of some matches in order show the maximun number of games. However, the ticker at the bottom of the screen should not display the results of matches that will be shown on FSC later or are currently being shown.

Thank you for your time. Hopefully this issue can be resoved.

WOW!!! I am really glad that I am unobservant and generally ignore the tickers any way. That would have pissed me off to no end. That REALLY sucks. I will be using the construction paper trick for any future delayed games I watch!

I had the close captioning on, and it fortunately blocked enough, so that I could see it was the score, just not what the score was.....
